Good man Aaron, I don't think you have any reason to have lack of confidence after the way you told this story. You're a tough man and an inspiration to anyone who sees this video

This is my story,That day changed the rest of my life and caused me alot of pain and discomfort which i have to live with for the rest of my life,my accident could of easy been avoided if i had of taken the time to make myself more aware of the dangers involved. After the accident farm safety became top priority on our farm.My advice to farmers is DONT wait until the accident has happened,Make your youngsters aware of the dangers and consequences on your farm

I don't think I will be doing this again after seeing your story. Sorry for your accident, it has opened many peoples eyes to simple things that cause injury that are, in most cases, life changing. Thanks for sharing, and helping to promote farm, and tractor safety.

Worked on farms as an agronomist for 25+ years, both mixed and arable. On a dairy farm in West Devon, and the farmer had a series of “interconnected rectangular pens” for selecting cows/cattle. I saw the farmer and he, as I thought, beckoned me over. I stupidly climbed across one pen and then another, to then realise I was in a pen not with cows, but young bulls! Wellie boots do not grip well on a slurry slicked concrete pen, but as these youngsters chased me I slipped and fell under the adjoining bars of the next pen. All I remember is hearing them crash into the bars! Very bent pen bars, and one very embarrassed farm rep! Dirty frightened but in tact! A lesson learned that never left me. Glad your on the mend Aaron 👍👍👍👍

I have almost had a similar kind of accident myself by getting my foot caught in the gap between a tail lift and the truck bed, fortunately no serious injury but accidents happen so fast. Thanks for sharing the story.

The very same thing happened to me years ago, and Im not even a farmer and was even near a farm, I was in secondary school at the the time and walking home and a local farmer came along the road and stopped and asked did I want a lift, There was no room in the cab of the tractor so he told me to stand on the drawbar, he then proceeded to raise the drawbar and my foot got caught in under the hitch, I crushed 3 of my toes but luck was on my side and I managed to keep them

@@seanmcgonicigle_121 It’s 30 years ago now i’m 44 now i can remember it like it was yesterday . The drawbar was close to the road and when i stood on it the farmer said to me hold on till i let it up i had my left foot placed in front of my right foot and my hands placed on both sides of the tractor cab to balance myself , i was looking at the farmer in the cab and did not notice my foot where it was . It was a hitch with a hook on it not like that one in the video and i’d say there was a gap of 5 millimeters between the two of them that’s the only thing that saved my toes from not being taken off. Can’t believe my original post was 7 years ago, thanks for the comments.

Such things don’t happen in my country for sure. Farm accidents are very common in Ireland and uk for some strange reason. Maybe because they always want to get things done in a rush? 🤷🏻♂️
