I’m a school shooting survivor. Just because I wasn’t in the same room when the shooter started, doesn’t mean that I’m not a survivor just as much as everyone else. I had to run, I had to hide, I had to watch victims come out of the school I was in covered in blood, I saw teachers covered in blood, I heard the gun fire, I heard the screams, I laid in a ditch for what felt like hours before crossing a major road to safety. Dylan was too far gone, Eric groomed him to be a cold blooded killer. They wanted to go down in history, shake America to the core, & set the trend for copycat shooters(they did). Dylan & Eric just got bored in btwn and started shooting lockers. They killed indiscriminately and after Eric broke his nose, their bombs failed(they put bombs in the caferteria to kills the students, news reporters, cops, & parents) they ran out of time. Talking like a teenager essentially means sounding unintelligent, and pausing frequently, often combined with a valley girl accent and poor vocabulary.

So sad to see that no matter how much time passes, these people will never fully heal from the trauma. Living something as traumatic as a mass shooting will always way heavily on those who experience it. I can only pray for those who’ve been through this to find resignation and peace.. and for them to be strong enough to continue to live their lives as they did before. 😢

Strong people! I watch all these video's about columbine, sandy hook, parkland and I can't believe something like that happens on a regular basis in america. You really have to change your gunlaws. How tf can some mentally ill people like dylan, Eric and Nicolas etc. get these guns legally? That's so f***ed up. I'm so sorry for the victims who got their lives cut short and the survivors and the families who have to deal with this for the rest of their lives...

For one thing the "mentally ill people" that get them come off as ordinary everyday people the type of people you'd never even think of as doing something so horrible. How do you think most serial killers get away with it for years? Because they're better at acted liked normal human beings then the majority of society. U never truly know someone

Honestly, i'm glad I wasn't in Denver when this stuff was happening, i am now for school and work but i was never there in my teen years, i was in texas at the time, it's hard for me to think about i'm not sure why everyone keeps re-living it every 420. Our school almost had a shooting too, six months later, when i was a freshmen. I wish these things would slow down and stop happening though, it sucks.

Kim's experience was one of the most powerful Columbine stories I've heard. Reminded me so much of Rachel Scott's message about the ripple effect and chain reaction simple acts of kindness can have. Ironic that she was the first victim, but glad that at least these twins were spared..

It’s just not even comparable to have the movie shooting with a columbine survivor. They truly do not compare in any capacity, the magnitude of columbine should not be diminished. They were teenagers, targeted by fellow teenagers, classmates. Peers. This was the 90’s, when this was not regularly occurring, technology was not was it is today, gun violence was not what it is today. It was a much more naive time. And the scale of Columbine just does not even compare with shootings that have followed, and the overall tragedy incurred. I find it really audacious to have the survivors brought together in such a way as if they were equal or comparable events.
