It is extremely heartbreaking that two of the students who lost their lives were senior year students: Isaiah Shoels and Lauren Townsend. Lauren was in the running to earn the title of class valedictorian and was basically the daughter that any parent dreams of: Lauren was in the National Honor Society, co-captain of the varsity volleyball team, got straight A's all throughout her school life, did an insane amount of volunteer work in her community, worked at an animal shelter and had plans of studying Wildlife Biology when she went off to Colorado State University that fall. Of course Isaiah Shoels was everything that his father Reverend Michael Shoels had described him as being in the video. I personally find it inspiring of Anne Marie Hochhalter to forgive Sue Klebold instead of holding onto the feelings of anger, hatred and resentment she had.

@@karinaharvey658 are you fuckin stupid. He says a very good smart fix to this problem. And you want to ban guns? They got guns illegally and no laws will EVER stop criminals from getting guns. The metal detectors work. Schools in the hood have metal detectors and what hood school has been shot up 🤔🤔 also its always dumb ass white boys who think theyre life is soooo bad. I know people in the hood that went to school with guns everyday for protection. And never shot up a school just saying
@Mr.O-Town
@Mr.O-Town 6 жыл бұрын
@@Jdoggdarula yes, and the criminals have such and easy access because the US produces sooooooo many firearms. if there was gun laws there would be less guns and therefore less in the hands of criminals.. the criminals get a hold of guns by the simple fact that there are so many guns to begin with. Even in Mexico and Canada the bulk of the firearms used in criminal activity are from guns smuggled from the US.
@kaleb5265
@kaleb5265 5 жыл бұрын
@@Mr.O-Town That's a false equivalence but okay. You can have an opinion, even if its factually unsound. It's ironic you bring up Mexico given the fact the cartels have all the power and weapons, and firearms can be legally purchased there only if you are incredibly wealthy. So the general public is left defenseless. Your point about a lot of their weaponry being American is also flawed. Many of their guns are WW2 era Anti aircraft guns mounted to trucks, or Russian/Chechen AK variants. Even if it were true, what's your point? Many firearms manufacturers are based in the US or Israel, so it's not really a solid argument. You clearly have no idea what happens when you disarm a populous. Ask a holocaust survivor about that, or listen to Ed Calderon and you'll see how ridiculous your thought process is. But anywho, rest in paradise to all these poor kids who were taken from us much to soon at the hands of evil people.

it was one random day when i realized that one day i wasn't going to be here anymore, and same as my parents. I then started saying goodbye i love you to them every time i left or went to bed because i don't know what might happen. At night I make sure i say i love you to my dad last ( doesn't mean i love you any less mom) I say it about three times before i leave for school and go to bed. Also what made me do this is a kid from my previous school where i was bullied a lot and he was there for me always but recently his dad ODed (overdosed). He suffered from depression and ODed on his meds. He also was divorced. And one guy made this amazing speech about him and said "always say i love you when you are leaving it doesnt matter how well you're connected to them" and that really stuck out to me. And also just an extra little thing many people said it but in other words i learned this when i had my head cracked open. catastrophe connects kind of like in WWII how one man hated jews and a world of constant conflict came together to fight him.

Psalm 107 Then they cry out to the Lord in their trouble, And He brings them out of their distresses. 29 He calms the storm, So that its waves are still. 30 Then they are glad because they are quiet; So He guides them to their desired haven. 31 Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men! 32 Let them exalt Him also in the assembly of the people, And praise Him in the company of the elders. 33 He turns rivers into a wilderness, And the watersprings into dry ground; 34 A fruitful land into barrenness, For the wickedness of those who dwell in it.

I was bullied to the point of a nervous breakdown. Not only did I go to school with the bullies I also rode same bus and lived in same neighborhood with most of them. No matter what I did to report the issue nothing was done. There was even a parent who told me at 13 to stop being a baby and toughen up. Wasn't just verbal it was at one point physical. They would hit me spit on me especially the boys. Got so bad I couldn't handle it anymore and I just broke. I refused to go to school, I quit eating and wouldn't leave my house. I was seeing a therapist because my sense of reality really started slipping and I wanted to end it all. I honestly felt like I wanted to just die so it would end. Even though the school and parents didn't do nothing about the problem my mom couldn't continue to watch me fade so she moved me away where I slowly got better. I'm stronger now and stand up for myself but the down side is I'm myself very defensive and very over protective of my kids. I've raised my kids to respect others and I've got a zero tolerance for bullying. They know that if I get one report that they have been involved in any type of bullying rather at school or at home that they're not gonna get away with it. If they wanna hurt someone and tare them down ect then I'll be their worst enemy. My youngest son told a friend of his that he smelled like cat food after another boy said it to him. When I got that call to come to the school. I was livid. I made him go with me to the kids house and apologize to him and his parents. That was the start of them becoming best friends and my husband and I being friends with the parents of the other boy. I just hope that as the generations go by kids/people learn to respect one another. Just sad not all the bullying stories have good endings.

I have been bullied. Bullied beyond repair.. I became home schooled junior year because I couldn't handle it anymore.. But Dylan and Eric were the bullies not the bullied. They were jerks to their friends and one of them kept a journal saying how he was the god and he hated everyone. No matter who liked him. They killed people because of their beliefs and race. That's being a bully. The other kid though, I do feel a bit of sympathy for as he wrote in his journal that all he wanted to do was kill himself. He didn't want to kill many people and it seemed like he was forced into that mess. But they still don't deserve any grief from people.

I think it's honestly incredible that the last man in this video forgave the shooters. That is absolutely amazing. It is so hard to forgive someone who did something so evil. Also, that he made a "game" with the security footage from that day? That's amazing that he was able to move on enough to do that. May all the victims rest in peace, and the family's and survivors recover well.

I'm amazed at the fact that Anne Marie Hochhalter had the courage to forgive Sue Klebold for the actions of her son. Anne Marie explained that she realized holding onto all the anger she had towards Sue was doing nothing for her aside from weighing her down. Anne Marie was put through the wringer after the shooting; aside from being paralyzed, she also had to endure the grief of losing her mother Carla to suicide and the stress of media intrusion.

I was in the California desert when this occurred. I was training and honoring my commitment to the Marine Corps. I later learned one of the deceased planned on going to boot camp. I feel compassion for the deceased, injured, loved ones. Sue Klebold is such a strong woman. I know so much promise was cut short but that young man willing to train and die for his country in the Corps will stay with me forever.

Corey DePooter wanted to serve as a Marine. I agree with you that Sue Klebold is a strong woman. In her interview with ABC News anchor Diane Sawyer for "20/20"; Sue Klebold explained that she "has to let some of this rest and say 'I didn't kill these people; Dylan did, it wasn't me!'" Granted; Diane Sawyer had a look on her face which suggested that she either had an awful smell under her nose or that she drank an entire bottle of lemon juice.

The survivors have incredible strength. Craig Scott - turning the tragedy, especially his sister’s story and message - into an inspiration to countless high school students. Ann Marie Hochhalter - not holding hard feelings against the mother of one of the shooters that paralyzed her, and even communicating with her. Sean Graves - stayed determined to walk again - and did so in time to receive his diploma at graduation.

Mariano Lopez just to be clear, we didn’t share guns. I carried the Hi-Point model 995 carbine rifle, a Savage-Springfield 67H 12-gauge pump shotgun or who I like to call ‘Arlene' , and Dylan - Vodka carried the Intratec TEC-DC9 and the Savage 311-D 12-gauge double-barrel shotgun. I used Arlene to blow my brains out, and Vodka used the TEC-DC9.

Mariano Lopez yeah, that story was made up by false information given by the person who was with her. His testimony to the police said that everything was fuzzy and that he only remembered hearing her crying. He apparently told her family those words which went public which is where the movie got that information. There is zero proof anyone saw which gun was used, but it was more than likely the hi point carbine if it were me.

After Dylan Klebold shot him, Castaldo now maintains, Eric Harris pointed his rifle at Castaldo and asked if he believed in God. As frightened as he felt, Castaldo said he responded with candor. “I answered honestly,” Castaldo says. “I told him ‘no’. I told him ‘no,’ and I ‘m alive because of it.” Castaldo, who was initially sprayed with bullets from Harris and Klebold while sitting outside of the cafeteria, also recalls how his friend Rachel Scott, who sat close by, was felled by the same torrent of gunshots. According to Castaldo, Rachel Scott did not immediately die. Like him, she was wounded badly and in terrible pain, having been shot several times in the chest and legs. Castaldo’s wounds were in his back, side, and left arm; they resulted in a shattering of his spinal cord and a likely lifelong paralysis. As the two lay together on the ground, with noise, chaos, and tumult exploding all around them on a high school campus suddenly under siege, Castaldo could hear Scott crying, and tried his best to comfort her. “I asked in vain if she was okay,” he remembers. “Obviously, I knew she wasn’t. I never got an answer.” Then moments later, Eric Harris returned to the scene. Castaldo’s memory has wavered over the years concerning what Harris said to Scott. His earliest memory, however, was apparently that when Harris asked her if she believed in God, Scott answered, “You know I do,” after which Harris shot Scott in the head, killing her. Today, he doesn’t recall her answer, but he assumes that Scott, who was a devout Christian, answered, “Yes.” “That was why he shot her, I guess,” Castaldo said. “And he (Harris) thought I was the same way, which I’m not.” Castaldo was and remains an agnostic. He answered Harris’s question-“Do you believe in God?”-in the negative, and believes that this is why Harris ultimately allowed him to live. Though his reply was truthful, Castaldo admitted he sometimes regrets not having answered differently. “I’m not always happy I didn’t have the balls to say ‘yes,'” he said. attackthesystemcom

Brucev7 If Castaldo actually said/thinks that, why is it not in his witness statements? Parts of the police reports are available online, including a complete witness statement from Castaldo on the day of the shooting. If that's his "earliest memory" of Rachel's murder, it's kinda weird he didn't think it was worth mentioning in his statement literally hours after it happened. No witness statement in the report described words exchanged between Rachel and the shooters.

I don’t think ANY loving parent heals. I’m a mother of two grown sons, if something happened to them, my broken heart would break my soul. You can’t come back from that. I think these parents are incredibly brave, I don’t know if I could carry on. Isaiah wasn’t just killed, he died being called the worst name possible, and he just wanted his mother. We all want our parents in times of need. I can’t imagine the fear going through those kids minds as they watch their friends get shot, some only to die themselves. Extremely sad. 😞
