Whilst Kurt makes a valid point of her edges of her footwork in the program, there are multiple highlights in this routine that I felt personally should have beaten Yuka in the short program. Firstly, the height of the Triple Lutz Combo was fantastic and performed excellently. It was more greatly executed than of Yuka's. Secondly, her entrance into the Double Axel and variation of the Double Flip is unique and something that doesn't get talked about when looking at the comment sections of her short between 1994-1995. Thirdly, her spiral sequence, although lacks the lines of a traditional one, had some different and difficult displays especially when she's travelling on one foot and hitting the beat of the music. And her spins was so fast and versatile too. I definitely would have placed Surya's performance ahead of Yuka's in the short program at this Worlds.

As much as I appreciate Yuka Sato's excellent overall skating, I must recognize 1994 was the World Championship of Surya Bonaly.

surya the best most exciting skater to ever grace the ice. the rest were all boring as hell. the same routines as anyone else but surya was so exciting.

Her only weakness was her edge work, otherwise agree with you 100%.

@@ronnieconner259 Her basic skating wasn't great, but she should have won that world's that year.
