Thank you! I got this serger 2nd hand and was able to thread it by following your instructions. I appreciate the close camera views

I bought this at Savers for 20 dollars. It works. This is the simplest serger I have ever threaded. I really like how open it is.

Also great that you’re still using your old serger. Mine is 35 years old and still working. Its a janome that came with 6 extra feet and now these accessories would be a fortune. I use the elastic and gathering feet quite often for quick charity projects. In fact I would say when I’m asked to make something for a charity fund raiser I think of my overlocker! It’s quick secure and I know I can make complete projects quickly. For general dressmaking I never use it and sometimes doubt my need for it. But then in comes a jersey project and I’m falling in love with my machine again. Just clean it after every project and oil them …. And change the needles!! ❣️

I have that same serger. It was a gift from a friend whose mother used it many years before she passed away and the daughter passed it along to me. Works like a champ and is much easier to thread than my Juki which demands the exact order of threading.

It is an easy threading! Good to hear.

Excellent tutorial Susan. Everyone with a serger or overlocker needs to watch this! They can be daunting and frustrating but it’s usually down to operator error. Threading is usually the issue. Not going in the tension discs not doing it in the right order for your machine and not removing existing thread from the machine before you start. Also use the right needle for your fabric. As you would your sewing machine. And change the needles! By systematic when you’re running it and only change one tension dial at a time. Thanks Susan. This will be so helpful to many ❣️

Bought a white 634D from a yard sale. The lady said she had taken it to several repairmen and kept having same problem of thread breaking. Thank you for your video. I did what your repairman did taking the front plate off and one under guide wasn’t threaded. Serge like a dream. 😊

I love your tutorial. I have the exact serger you have the color and all.I'm having trouble with the tension on knit fabric. I bought this serger years ago at a machine shop and it still runs.I really like the older machine. I'm going to keep working on the stitches until I can get it, thank you so much. Alice

I no longer have the directions for the machine but I know it can sew elastic on garments. It can do a roll hem as well. There might be some videos out there on that. Let me know:).

I have watch your video and it was great. But, I cannot figure out why my lower looper will not stay threaded could you help? Solve this problem. I have the same machine. Thanks
@susaneliascouture2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching. You might need to have it looked at by a sewing machine mechanic. They would have to take the too half apart and make sure there are no jammed threads there. Without seeing the machine it's hard to tell and I'm not a mechanic. I will say it's really important to press the lever in the right to engage the tension. I hope this helped

For the fabric you're having issues with in the video, did you ever try a teflon needle?
@susaneliascouture Жыл бұрын
No I don’t change needles

What if your super lock 734DW locks up?
@susaneliascouture2 жыл бұрын
I am not a mechanic, so if you can find one in your area, that would help. Questions I would ask would be Has the machine been sitting for a long time? Has the machine been cleaned as far as the threads, both the top and inside?
