The video is very helpful but The CSF will pass From 4th ventricle to subarachnoid space through a median foramen named foramen magendie and two lateral foramina of luschaka and CFS will not be present in subdural space its will present in subaracnoid space only. Please correct it . Tanx
@susannaheinze7 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment. I generally try to simplify the content and avoid the most specific terms for the foramina. You are correct that the CSF only circulates in the subarachnoid space. I'll make an annotation at that point in the video to correct this!

Right..the foramen of Magendie open into the cisterna magna and the Lateral foramina of Luschka opens to pontine cistern.

Oh man I feel you! I'm still tired and I was done on Monday! Yes! It's very unfortunate for visual processors to see it shown on roof of lateral ventricle, at least in the anterior horn it should be on the floor, and maybe also down the foramen of monro into and onto the roof of the third ventricle.

I feel like my brain has been being smashed into others but trust me I have not made millions a year in any job I've had nor been an NFL player. I wish since savings runs away fast when you add up tissue costs & hours unable to work because I only felt better lying with my head down in bed. Thinking for the longest time I had sinus issues from allergies. Wasn't figured out until I had surgery for a morphine pain pump implant - lucky me I found out I had a 2nd cause of CSF leak.

In my head, the CSF is obviously under pressure at times. I sometimes can hear it "draining" directly toward the back of my head, almost every day around mid-morning. The sound is faint but a sort of high pitched crackling sound, as if spraying from a small opening under pressure. There are usually two or three surges of fluid, then it stops. It can be heard across a room when its very quiet. My kids have heard it a few times and describe it the same way: like fluid squirting through a copper pipe.
@letsmakeitagoodworld9 жыл бұрын
RobertMOdell you have got to be kidding right... lol
@PumpkinQueen13139 жыл бұрын
jess davies no he's not. I have IIH and when my ICP raises too high because of this I get that fluid under pressure sound (similar to putting a finger partially over the end of a hose) as a large amount of fluid tries to squeeze through the foramen near the base of my brain all at one time.

Hi! At min 12:30: You seem to imply that the subarachnoid and subdural spaces are the same. They're not! The subdural is a virtual space between the dura and the arachnoid. "Virtual" meaning that it normally contains nothing, let alone CSF!

Liked your way of teaching. No doubt you did a great job but you did not even mention the role of ependymal cells in the formation of CSf. I appreciate your effort.
@susannaheinze7 жыл бұрын
Thank you for taking the time to comment! You are right--I should have included more info about ependymal cells! I guess sometimes I cut things out because the video gets too long. This is an older video that I would like to remake and do a better job with. I do talk a little about ependymal cells in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fGaah2eQe7J2qK8

Is it accurate to state that 'capillaries' produce CSF? The choroid plexus is a venous plexus. A capillary is an extremely small blood vessel located within the tissues of the body, that transports blood from arteries to veins.
@thebeastinthegame8 жыл бұрын
+doctor02new The production of CSF happens via the ependymal cells which surround the blood capillaries. The ependymal cells make up the choroid plexus

I wonder if she is referring to it that way since the subdural space is a potential space. In the event of trauma or in cadavers it'll pop up, but in a healthy individual it is the subarachnoid space
