Susanne Sundfor - what can I say - she is the most exquisite musician. Her voice is the purest I've heard, and her songs deeply affecting. I can't wait for her album to come out, and hopefully for her to tour. I saw her at the Barbican in London and still get goosebumps thinking about it. Extraordinary.

This is so... I can't really put words on it, but I know this song has come at an important time in my life, and for my growth as a person. Thankyou so much for sharing this gorgeous, heart-wrenching yet soothing piece of your heart, Susanne. I have followed your music for quite a few years now, and it has comforted me through the very extremes of sorrow and joy. This feels like a song more for the space in between those extremes: a poignant declaration of unconditional love for another being. It makes me feel peace. It's one of the most beautiful expressions of love we have I think; putting someone else before ourselves, simply because we love them. Somewhere along my way, I too have found love. I don't know if it will last, since it is still relatively young, but I feel this so strongly: 'They say "life's no point, so why bother? Love yourself more than any other"; But that is not what I will live for.' There has been this huge movement of self-love across today's generation that, like with most movements of thought in human history, has established itself by first placing other forms of love as lower compared to love of the self. Not to say self-love is not a wonderful and beautiful thing. But this action of lowering other things in order to be accepted (creating a hierarchy) is something we do too often as a species. In order to revere one thing, we smother or topple something else that's similar or may be a threat to it. As if there is not room for both! or even several shapes for love to take. You have voiced this, Susanne. You have proudly stood against the current and stood true to your heart. I admire that a lot. And it's exactly what I have been needing to hear since I fell so deeply in love with my significant other. That it's okay to want to give them the world, to wish to give them everything you could possibly give them that could make them happy. It doesn't mean I'm giving up my autonomy as a person. It doesn't mean I am not loving myself. If we can love anything enough to do such things, then that is wonderful. By itself. Whether this love is for yourself or another being shouldn't matter. Love itself is what matters. It's one of the few things for which a huge proportion of us choose to exist. And with every human, it will take its own form. Thank you, once again Susanne! For making your own stand for this form of love. Sending love to you and your dear ones from Ireland 🍀

Sundfør wrote Blómi (new album out 28.4) above all as a love letter to her young daughter - a letter to a precious new life on its way into an unstable world. In the title track, which is based on a lush, driving piano arrangement and skin-tickling saxophones, Susanne conveys her wisdom to her daughter, and encourages her to take the words with her through life. In her lyrics, with hints of Norse language and mythology, Susanne refers to Nordic indigenous women-based cultures that built matrilineal societies and worshiped feminine deities. These roots, this repeated handing down from mother to child, are the core of the music at Blómi.
