It feels good to get through it. I must admit I'm ready to start shopping again. It may be a bit though as I'm about to have knee surgery. :(

Love the little green bench. I might suggest that you wrap the foam with batting and that will round the corners and not make the edges looks so square. Just a thought

Too bad about the yellow mark showing on the front. Very distracting. Doesnt look uniform.

Love all 3 of these. I’ll check out your booth when I make a delivery this week. To tell the truth, I always walk up to see your stuff.

I feel the same way about the inlays. I love the look, but I think they are almost more unpredictable than milk paint 😂

I love it all! That nightstand would really match the spread and the furniture in the bedroom I call the grand-girls with the dolls and angels. I’m sure you’ve sold it so, great job. MeMom😊

I love them all. I’m inspired to try an inlay at some point. I’ve been chicken. I think if I get those same inconsistencies I may lightly sand the others to match. Already coming up with my back up plan🤣
@susieonthefarm Жыл бұрын
That's what I do as well but be sure you seal the inlay before you sand because it will smear if not. Some people suggest half water based sealer like polyacrylic and half water in spray bottle. I just do straight spray sealer. I tried a brush on sealer and that smeared as well. They are fun but unpredictable. Usually the end result turns out nice.

Susie... I love how all of your projects turned out 💯 Especially the nightstand 😍 As far as the inlays go... I was having the same issues until I started using my IOD brayer. I would lay down the paint, add inlay, brayer the inlay down so the contact with the paint was consistent and then mist the inlay with water use a damn cloth to push down the inlay and soak up the extra water and then brayer them again. When taking them off, I would do pretty much what you did. I would mist them again and use a damp cloth to pick up the extra water and then wait 30 seconds to a minute and pull them up. I found that the pattern across the entire area (when using multiple pieces at once) was much much more even and consistent, although I did embrace the distressing that is already made into the inlay like the stamps and transfers! Hope this helps ❣️

I have tried the brayer as well. I think you are correct, it does seem to transfer better. I still love them even as unpredictable as they may be!

Susie, all these projects are just lovely! $5 for that dressing table bench was a steal, girl. The cheapest I have seen one for is $35.

All the pieces are lovely, and that nightstand knocks it out of the ballpark. I noticed that more painted transferred on the top surface than elsewhere, and wonder if it had to do with your sanding it.

No the paint was very smooth on the top I just thought the top and the bit on the drawers was the right amount for this inlay. Thanks for watching!

Good job on everything! From my experience with the IOD paint inlays, you're correct as far as the amount of paint you're laying down before applying the transfer. You absolutely have to put down a decent coat so that the paint on the inlay itself has something to go in to. I hope I'm making sense. I love your use of the canvas drop cloth and that's something I'll be using in the future as I have my on hoard of projects to tackle in the next few months. I also appreciate the up-cycle of the pillow shams especially since I've been known to do something similar in the past. New subscriber, stuck at home with a cold and a broken knee, wondering if I can get through your Playlist today. 🤔🤣🙂
