In the first years of the masskara festival, the public plaza used to be the center of festivities and the go to place as all events were being held there but when they added 3 more festival sites in recent years which is Lacson St, the BCGC and the Upper East, it has somehow lost the crowd and the “festive” atmosphere that we used to experience when we were kids. Party people and tourists prefer to go to the more upscale venues and the plaza were left to, pardon the term for lack of better word, the common people. But, good to see that you enjoyed your stay❤

Susie, most of us Filipinos not eating TALABA at night especially if your not so familiar with each vitamins contents some of us experiencing stomach dissorder when you take it too much during dinners. But in Lunch time we should it that sea shell as many as you can, and for the person with High Blood pressure and with high CREATININE issues it's not advisable to take that much.

Bacolod City is also known as the "City of Smiles", evident from the happy smiles of its people.. and once the Sugar Bowl of Asia, but on 1980 the price of sugar plummeted and with the tragedy of MV Don Juan, MassKara Festival was then born to uplift the spirit of the Negrenses from those tragic events.. MassKara simply means "many faces", so when you see a smiling mask, that represents the resilience of the Bacolodnons😊❤

Hi Susie, before leaving Bacolod, try to visit Silay City, known as the Paris of Negros. Where you find lots of Well preserved heritage houses and great food. Also you can find there, one of the oldest bakeries in the Philippines, El Ideal (1920). Silay City is just 25 mins. away from Bacolod City😊

I am very careful and avoiding every food that can be dangerous. Even avoiding some food my doctor allows me and say it's pregnancy safe but I prefer to be 100% safe so still choose to not include it in my diet for now. As you could see in the video I made sure how the food is prepared before buying it so I can decided if it's ok to eat it or no.

Oooohhhh…a "first time" treat again for real-the oysters! Try the baked version next time, Susie. There's more of seaffod, shells and other sea greens to try in our 7,000++ islands ü The difference in the Bacolod squid you ordered vs. the salted and dried ones in Luzon (yes, absolutely (skewered) squid is sold as street food in the Philippines, esp. again in Visayas and Mindanao; in coastal areas in Luzon), is that the Bacolod squid on stick does have lemon grass; prepared like the Bocolodnons and Ilonggos (from Iloilo) season their chicken inasal. And, yes, you guessed it: Bacolod Chicken Inasal originated from the homes and streets of Bacolod ü as have the other brands that have made its way to Luzon ü (The difference between Bacolod and Iloilo inasal is in the vinegar used). "Plain" piaya _IS_ the real piaya ü you're right. *Inggit kami!!!!!* We've always prefer it over the new "flavored" ones ü *Molasses:* the traditional and original sweetener of piaya, not just "brown sugar" or muscuvado, that's why the authentic piaya sweetness is subtle although somewhat gritty, nut not-and never-assaulting or aggressively sweet. ü BTW, where you got your original piayayas from is BongBong's, so you stumbled upon a true Bacolod gem ü

Hey Susie nice vlogs! They’re very entertaining! Just a word of warning please don’t eat raw street food as u don’t know if they’re fresh and considering u r pregnant as well. I’m Filipino but didn’t grow up there and had fresh oysters at a restaurant. I ended up having the worst food poisoning of my life. Just be very careful and stick to cooked foods until at least after u have given birth.

Would never eat raw especially not now! That's why I made sure to ask how it's prepared and it was served steamed which is safe. 😊👍

Words that don’t mix with delicious food in Bacolod are boiled and steamed. NO! NO! NO! Bacolod is known for its inasal so all the delicious food need to be thoroughly cooked by fire, whether it’s bbq, grilled or fried. Any other method besides these 3 is a gamble.😂
