Suspect arrested in I-5 crash that killed Washington State Patrol trooper

One person is in custody after a trooper was struck and killed on Interstate 5 near Marysville early Saturday morning.

If you travel I-5 at night, it is not uncommon to witness vehicles weaving in and out of traffic at 90-100mph. On Feb 17- at about 10pm, two vehicles traveling north passed by us at least 100mph - apparently racing- weaving thru traffic. Several minutes later, there was a slow down of traffic N/B. We came upon one of the cars (dark sedan) jammed into the guardrail. There was another car also into the guardrail but I could not be sure if that was the other car that was racing. There has to be tougher penalties for these idiots.

I was driving north bound last friday around 1am in the morning on I-5 just before 41st street in Everett when a car passed two other cars and my car and lost control and slammed head first into the Jersey barrier, they had to be going 100+
