Suspect in fatal weekend stabbing appears in court

A man accused of stabbing one man to death over the weekend appeared in a Gallatin County justice courtroom via Zoom Monday morning.
Thomas Riley Wegley, 24, is charged with one count of deliberate homicide, one count of attempted deliberate homicide, and one count of parole violation.
The charges come after Wegley allegedly stabbed two people in the 500 block of north 6th Ave. after an altercation early Saturday morning.
Richard L. Sherman, 38, of Bozeman died and the other is in stable condition.
Wegley appeared in court with a visible black eye and in a wheelchair.
