I think so too. According to studies, there are between 25-50 serial killers active in the U.S. every year. New York has very high population. I wouldn't be surprised if more than one was active there in a 15 year period. Also, Long Island doesn't have many large and empty stretches of land to be dumping bodies without anyone around for miles. It's probable that more than one used the same dumping ground since those are in limited supply.

I also don't see how the defense can be so confident, but Casey Anthony got away with it. If they convict him correctly, off with his head. Some of the sisters of the victims received phone calls from the killer (from their deceased relatives' cell phone numbers!) as he had knowledge of the murders. They also said that in some cases the voice was a female. I know that you can use a voice disguiser to change your voice from male to female and vis versa so it's possible he did this. The attorney for a few of the victims confirmed he may have used a female to "lure" some of the victims. I guess everything is speculation at this point. That's all I know.
