I never agree with DA coming up with new charges cause they can't convict a person on their first charges its BS. DA just wont accept the judges ruling. Has to keep trying to give the guy more time.

What??? The jury found him guilty of this charge & what he was just sentenced for. The Michigan department of corrections didn’t suggest anything as that comes from the DA, it’s his atty who asked for probation. He got exactly what he deserved to receive & if he’s so straight then in 18 months, he’ll be free, if not & he continues on the same path as he has, then he’ll do the 15 years. It’s completely up to him. He’s already got almost a year in currently so as long as he’s remorseful & does what he’s supposed to do, according to his atty, then he’ll be out in 8 months.

@@dudemorris7769you’re full of it! He was officially arrested on charges of murder, he didn’t commit one, so now they charge him for what he admitted to, which was in an attempt to save himself from a wrongful conviction! Breaking into cars was never charged so fair to say the judge was finding reasons for approving the prosecution request. Good thing you’re sticking up for a career criminal. Thankfully the Judge put him right where he belongs & I guarantee he will not win an appeal. I can tell who watched the trial & who didn’t & the only ones claiming that the Judge is wrong is the ones who didn’t watch the trial, or are criminals themselves. A 4x conviction on felonies is automatically jail time & his atty needs to be written up & possibly disbarred as well for his disrespect to the Judge. The atty got caught lying & displaying disgusting behavior for a licensed atty. He, on the stand repeatedly told about how much he lied to the police, & went into how many crimes he was committing and has been committing & hasn’t been out of prison but for 5 months. He had to pull the entire time of the 5 year’s for over 40 charges while serving those 5 years in prison. Normally someone gets out within 18 months on an adjudication, yet just as the Judge stated, he did the entire 5 year’s, which is unheard of, unless you’re doing every thing you shouldn’t while incarcerated. It wouldn’t surprise me if the Atty doesn’t get a fine or 90 days suspension from the bar for his behavior in court.

@@FrederickPreston-d4j Mr. Preston, I read your comment with interest. I am a live trial court junkie, and I watch them with an unbiased eye. To answer your question, I have seen a lot of injustices with defendants on trial from all races and backgrounds. Sadly, we can go back way before Emmett Till to see it with Black and Brown folks. I am an analytic person who looks at both sides and call it like I see it, regardless of color. So, it takes a lot for me to call the 'race' card. However, in this case, the evidence points to Samatha's ex (my opinion). I don't think this would have been a high-profile case if Jackson-Bolanos stumbled upon a black woman - it probably wouldn't make the news. But if she were conscious when he saw her and called 9-1-1, he would be lauded as a hero in the wrong place at the right time. I think the police jumped the gun, giving the ex immunity. If Jackson-Bolanos said what the ex said, that he believed he killed her but wasn't sure, and that his mind was messed up with a mixture of medications, he would be where he is now -detectives would have taken that as a confession! (stereotypes of folks factor in a lot of these cases). I looked at the judge sideways during the trial; I wasn't surprised at her ruling -99% of defendants lie at least the first or two times during interrogations, and this is the first time I have ever seen a 'lying' charge added during jury instructions. As I mentioned, unless the ex confesses, her murder will go unsolved. I pray for the Woll family. ❤️

So because you were found innocent or simply couldn't convince guilty you should go to jail for 15 years for past crimes that he satisfied with jail time, probation or parole. You have a history so...........we are going to send you to jail for 15 years! Wow........ Typical true two tier justice system.im not surprised but filled with anger that this still happens over and over again for Black people and they don't even hide it or try to disguise it. @roshandamaxwell6600
@roshandamaxwell6600 28 күн бұрын
So just looking at and hearing the judges tone, the defendant was under a hung jury so let's give him as much time for lying and also let's review his whole history with the system which has been proven prejudice and biased to see if every day of any sentence was served or probation completely served. This judge went back to 2013searchin for anything she could use to enhance and or. Explain why she is about to give him the maximum sentence available. He is going to be punished for NOT getting the GUILTY VERDICT. It happens time and time again with African Americans. Cops lie on Police reports consistently and do it with impunity. They have the power to ruin lives with the stroke of a pen and they get away with it.

They want the judge to consider his whole history just because he made a statement without them telling him the reason for the questioning and then saying that he lied. So they want him to spend ten years in jail for lying if In fact he did lie, that's a long time. Looks like he will go to jail for the murder after all even though he had a hung jury. So not guilty of murder which in some cases you can get and serve ten years. But he will go to jail for lying and looks like ten years is going to be the sentence regardless.

The process is the punishment, what if a person is truly innocent and being dragged through this along with sitting in jail fighting these allegations along with costing you and your loved ones time and money… on top of that this case is viral so that brings a whole other problem for the accused. Each day I just see our government, police, justice system fail, lie, cheat, steal, etc.

The way the victim's family is relentlessly gunning for this innocent man to pay the price for something he was acquitted of, and clearly did not do, causes me to lose all empathy for their pursuit of justice. It is clearly misguided, and they have targeted this man despite the much more logical suspect in her weird ex. If they willfully choose to dismiss suspicion of him, then best of luck to them ever receiving justice, and hopefully they dont support the railroading of some other innocent man. They shouldn't even be present at this hearing. I certainly hope the so-called judge's retaliatory sentence is overturned on appeal. She provided a least a couple solid foundations on which to structure a good argument for it. Shameful judge. Great overall effort throughout by the defense team and I have no doubt the filing of the appeal will be swift.
