After my 3-year-old son died I didn’t want to do anything, I didn’t even want to live, let alone buy a home and pay off debts. The days, weeks, and several months that followed I felt very detached and life was surreal. I struggled to see a future without him. We didn’t have life insurance on him. As a general practice, most funeral homes in the US provide services free of charge for children with the exception of some small items that have to be paid for (flowers, obit, etc). I cannot understand these moms that are so detached from their children who are no longer there to love. I felt like I’d been sideswiped by a train. I was numb to the crying after a while, but that didn’t make me numb to the pain of it. The heartache is Iiterally painful. If you have ever had a heavy heart before, you know that feeling. But when it was my son, that heaviness was much stronger than I’d ever felt before, it felt as though someone reached into my chest and ripped out my heart. Part of my heart died with him. Six years later and we still live in the same house he passed away in. We are doing a lot better individually and as a family, and we feel his presence here nearly every day. It’s become normal for lights to randomly turn on and off (sometimes not so randomly), or like at Christmas time last year the tree lights flickered like they were coordinating with a song. These things never happened before he passed away, and now they are so common we like to think he’s playing with us. I take comfort in knowing he’s here with us, even if it may be nothing.

@@snowwhite2524 Its not as messed up as you're trying to make it out to be. Sadly babies and children do die. Nobody likes to think about that, but it is a fact of life. Because of this plenty of parents set up life insurance on their kids. Gods forbid you or anyone else would have to bury a child. But I'd imagine the last thing you'd want to think about is not being able to honor your child and give them a proper burial due to financial restraints.

My child died from sids. I was questioned by police and never took any legal advice. I didn't kill my child or do anything negligent. You don't always need a lawyer.

The police began asking about the insurance and her financial situation, she was just responding to the questions .

Yes the cops are allowed to lie to you and deceive you. They just want a confession. Always get a lawyer.

Why are these people having children if they don't want to hear them cry. Crying is a part of the process when it comes to babies. I am sick and tired of children not being allowed to live, not because they are sick but due to the selfishness and wickedness of their parents. Give the children up for adoption if you can't stand them.

I often wonder if some of these women ever babysat? I knew friends who realized they didn't like kids after a few babysitting jobs. Please ladies, it's ok not to have children if you realize you don't like kids.

lol that will do it , few siblings to babysit for few hours

Get fixed. So tired of people having the right to procreate even when their monsters BUT the innocent helpless children do not have the right to breathe or be alive. WTF

Because nowadays everything and everyone is replaceable. Look at the way people treat animals and the land. That says a lot. And that is how people treat each other as well including children.

Probably to keep her thinking she did nothing wrong and she keeps talking.

They have to be "friendly" toward her. It's thr best way to get her to talk. Even saying it wasn't her fault is something they have to do. The saying is 100% true, you get more flies with honey than you do with vinegar. It must be so difficult to be chummy with a monster like this.

To get a confession and not one which puts forth her defense of “accident” or “psychotic break” which she “can’t remember “…. that’s why.

when they told her, the baby was smothered, she said what is that? Like She didn’t know what it meant but then when she found the baby, she asked herself if she SMOTHERED her baby by accident. I thought you didn’t know what the word meant!!! THE LIES
