Yeah, I like these old shows a lot, but it always irritates the heck out of me when they kill the innocent lion in the script. Magic, fwah, that's tragic.Different mindset. If a lion was racing after one of my animals or family, I'd look for the tranquilizer dart gun. I would be very sad indeed to kill it. But then what do you do when it wakes up? Be very nice.

It bothers me as well, and agree that would be ideal, but remember there was maybe one tranquilizer gun available for every 10,000 hunting rifles to hand. You would use what you have. Also the mindset was always that if a lion ever mauled or bit or ate a human it was now going to continue to do so forever so had to be put down.

The racism is hard to listen to in this one. Definitely one for its time.

Racism? Oh, right, the tribal Africans were really civilized. Yes, this clearly mischaracterizes their advanced culture! 🙄😉

Lol racism was normal, and even propagated, back then, yes, but still, how come dumb tripe like this was part of a superlative program like suspense? Was there such a demand for nonsensical racist buffoonery during the world war?

Agree it’s a silly filler compared to most Suspense stories, and “buffoonery” might be an apt description of this one, however just because it depicts the natives as they were doesn’t make it “racist.”
