Agnes Moorhead is one of the best actors I’ve seen or heard. She holds your attention at every minute, and always dominates the scene and became the character she was portraying. Fabulous!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Have you heard the Suspense episode "Wrong Number"? It is Agnes Moorehead at the height of her voice acting abilities. You will love it. It is here on KZbin.

Yes. Helen is archetypal as an unpleasant and harsh sort of woman.

Not sure how to say this , she seems to be very popular, but Bewitched ruined it for me. 😂😂. Ironically, Elizabeth Montgomery was very pretty - prettier than Agnes M. Similar to this story? On a side note, anyone naming their kids these days, Agnes? Cheers, fellow OTR listeners.

Agnes Moorehead was a very good actress, but her histrionics are sometimes a little too much over the top for me.

Histrionics are necessary for this character.

@@howardoller443 Helen is a repressed loner, bitter and easily angered. She is dissatisfied with her life but does not know why. Histrionics are indeed necessary as they are the only to way to express the dissatisfaction and hostilities within Helen.

@@denisenoe3702 "Histrionics are ...... the only to way to express the dissatisfaction and hostilities within Helen.". I don't agree, and the very first conversation she had with the two men at the beginning of this radio play are a good example. She EASILY could have toned it down and replied to them a little less over-dramatically and still conveyed the same bitterness and brooding anger. Besides, my very first comment in this thread was a general comment about her sometimes histrionic presentation, rather than a specific critique of this radio play.
