It happens that just a few weeks ago I read this story. It's by John Dickson Carr, the master of the locked room mysteries and the impossible mysteries.

Another locked room mystery. There are so many of them going back to the 19th century, maybe even earlier. The Mystery of the Yellow Room by Gaston Leroux is a clever one.

Roma wines was indeed a wine giant back then but was bought out by Guild wineries in 1970 but after a lawsuit against Guild... Guild liquidated and sold the company and brands, vineyards etc to Buttes oil and Gas in 1975. Alas no more Roma Wines

Apparently Roma wine is now owned by Gallo. I do not know if they have kept the brand. Look for Gallo wine from around Fresno.
