Susquehanna River Smallmouth Bass are ALWAYS HUNGRY!

In this video I fish City Island again, but then venture up into new territory for me. Normally I can't make it past a particular shelf of shallow rock, but this time the water was just high enough to get over them with minimal prop scraping. And it was well worth it! I found a popular wintering hole I had heard about from a few other fishermen.
This was early February, so the water was still cold, but it was sunny and the water was clear, so I believe that warmed things up just enough to get them hungry and active.
Everything was caught on Mimic Baits Hair Jigs with Stonecat Trailers, and SRT Grubs.

Thanks Jon! Yeah the river has a lot of 3-4 pound bass right now. Must’ve been a really good spawn several years ago. I’m excited to see how many survive to be 5 pounders. That would be wild.

Up here on the W.Branch the water rose from 3' to 19.7' (currently at 10'), how would you approach this?

Not with a ten foot pole! Seriously that sounds dangerous to be on a boat in that high of water. But if i did I would basically do the same thing as in this video, just move it further up more into the trees where the current is broken.

Are you running an outboard? Also what lb trolling motor are you using?

Yep an evinrude 30hp. Trolling motor is 70lbs
