Nice! Didn’t realize there are quality bass like that in there. Found your channel from your snakehead herring run video…I live near herring run and never thought to fish it. Only ever see suckers and green sunfish. digging the channel.

Dude, thank you. Means a lot to me that a local guy is watching and getting some new info. Main reason why I started this channel. Ps I’ve also had good luck at lake Roland on weedless wacky rigged works and spinnerbaits fyi. Good luck out there, maybe we’ll run into each other

Nice fish man. I sadly remain fish less on my Chad Shad and 6 1/2” Draw. The banks of my local lake don’t have many deadfall trees. It’s sort of like fishing in a salad bowl.
@GillRaker79
@GillRaker79 18 күн бұрын
That sucks man. Yeah that doesn't sound like ideal conditions. Maybe in the fall when the grass is dying out or the spring prespawn before the grass when the bass are fattening up on big baitfish. I tried my best fishing the big Draw but the action sucked so bad I put it away. The spro chad is a million times better than the Draw imo. Good luck man

@@GillRaker79 I don’t love the 6.5” draw either, but I switched to it thinking it was a little smaller than the Chad Shad and they’d be more likely to hit it. I have caught a couple on a Flow Glide and S-waver.

Awesome video. I've lived near this spot my whole life but never really fished the area. I had no idea so much success could be had right here! I have a small 10' pond boat. Do you think it could handle the susquehanna on a slow day? I know the dam is right there so. I'd also love to see a video where you go through your whole setup. The boat, the rods/reels and the baits to explain which rigs you use for which species and why. I'm a novice so it feels like it's totally random but I'm sure it's not.
@GillRaker79
@GillRaker79 Ай бұрын
Thank you! Yeah that area has become one of my absolute favorite places to fish. I would not attempt the pond boat there, especially with the whole dock street dam deaths history just below there. But a budget kayak would do great there if you don’t mind paddling. $300 and you’re out on the water and can get to places I can’t. I’ve never thought about doing a breakdown of my equipment. That’s a great idea for a video 👍
@AndyDeBrunner

@@GillRaker79 Yeah, the dam can be quite deadly. I actually alreay own a kayak that is not set up at all for fishing but I'm sure I could modify a few things and make it halfway decent. Thanks for the videos!

I started fishing here at the end of last year putting in at Muddy Creek. Pretty area but sort of scary: lots of rocks just under the surface and constantly changing currents. I only have a small 14 foot v hull with a 7hp outboard so I’m leary of fishing in cold high water until I get a little more familiar with the area.
@GillRaker79
@GillRaker79 2 ай бұрын
I used to put in at Muddy Creek, but the ramp is so steep, my boat swings to the side before i can pull it out, so I've been launching at dorsey park. You are right, it's an intimidating body of water. I had to scope it out with my kayak first before bringing my boat. You could always run up there slowly when the water is lower and clearer, being careful of the rocks you mentioned. Once you see the route, it's easy to repeat. Good luck this year!

Thank you! I do not have a jet motor, but my prop is pretty banged up from scouting out areas like this and up river near Harrisburg. It’s a pretty straight shot up to the headwaters, just go slow the first time you try it and look out for underwater boulders. Good luck!
