Looked like a great start to the day. That log crossing was sketch. Looked worse than what the water crossing would have been. I liked the be kind bench for a great thought for the day. That fern forest floor was beautiful! Great trip so far. That Peak meal should take care of your appetite. Enjoy! Have a great day.

It was very slippery. It was wet and kind of rolled over from a flood I guess. Made it fun though. PA had tons of ferns. Makes the woods beautiful but it also limits potential primitive camping options. The peak refuels hit the spot.

That steak omelette sounds interesting. Going to have to try that out. 5:20 mark ,that bridge looked sketchy. Loved that big meadow views. Beautiful area my friend 👍🏻👍🏻

It is really good. The other one they make is called sausage scramble. Also excellent. The best thing about them is they rehydrate well. Not crispy and not soupy. That bridge used to be level. The creek must have flooded and shifted it. We noticed issue with other bridges as well where they were moved or off kilter. But this one was slippery too which made it interesting.

I dig NMM for low-carb and taste good but I don't know if they work with anyone on social media. Loved part 2! Looking forward to the next one Dan!

I enjoy them. They are lighter, smaller, and use much lass water than most other companies. And they taste good too. You can be an ambassador or affiliate of some sort.

Yeah. I’m thinking it is the heat because they never really bothered me much before. As long as you keep moving they can’t catch you. lol.

Nice video. The hammock looks convenient then don't have the option of pushing the underquilt aside.

Thanks Rod! That’s the only drawback to this type of hammock where you can’t vent the underquilt or slide it to the side. This trip it wasn’t an issue mostly. You can reverse your position in it if you are lounging around then the majority of the quilt isn’t under you.

I actually did find some trees to hammock at Scoval Branch shelter. If you’re looking out from the shelter, to the left of the big fire pit. Wasn’t ideal, but it worked. I did see that leaning pine tree to the right of the shelter where it would otherwise be a good hang. There is a small stream about 100 feet in front of the shelter down past the fire pit; a slight bit of bushwhacking to get to and might be dry during a drought. Did you have any encounters with the flying squirrel that lives in the shelter? It was really interested in my backpack 😁

We were looking in there but the trees seems small/thin if I’m thinking of the same place. If you are looking at the shelter and look left there is a nice spot for a tent but two of the trees there were dead and back a few feet further there is a leaning tree almost down. Down past the fire pit is where I got water before. This time it was totally dry. There was water further down the trail but since we were going to hike on we got it where you can walk right down to it at about .8 miles. I didn’t see any flying squirrels. That would have been a neat but interesting experience.

Yeah, the trees I had to hang on were pretty skinny. And yeah, to the left of the shelter as you look at it, is where I ruled out anything because of the leaning tree. The first time I went past there, some trail angels had left a bunch of gallon jugs of water in the shelter
