Sussex School Caught in Row as They Ban Girls From Wearing Skirts | Good Morning Britain

Priory School in Lewes, Sussex have been caught up in a row as they make wearing trousers compulsory for girls and boys. Last Friday saw a protest outside the school over the new uniform policy and students were refused entry into the school grounds. Students Libby Murray and Nina Cullen, joined by their mothers Cressida and Sheila, speak to GMB about their thoughts on the uniform. At the desk, Maria Caulfield MP and Harriet Minter debate whether or not the school was right to turn away students for not complying to the uniform.

This is nuts. The school uniform IS a skirt & blouse & jacket etc. THE SCHOOL IS BREAKING THE UNIFORM RULE.

The term school uniform itself spells it out.....uniform, one, uno, mono, same.... And school is a place where they learn discipline, if you cant discipline yourself at a young age, how will you discipline yourself when you graduate.....

Just tell them that they aren't banned because of them but because of the males around them. In other words, they prevent male students from studying by distracting them with their attractive female bodies to male students. That is all it is about

If it was only about a even playing field they should have provided the uniforms for the children Bec there are a group of people who may not be able to afford the new clothing

I think the idea of a school uniform is a good idea in the sense that all the kids are dressed the same...not all kids can afford a different outfit five days a week and that then becomes a case of kids being picked on for their lack of so called nice clothes...we know it happens and it is very hard on the average kid..we all had to wear uniforms going to school...why is everything such a BIG DEAL now....

It's the shortness of the skirts that's the elephant in the room here, one of the students mentioned about how they roll the skirts up at the waistband, this is the issue, it's not great optics.
