This sounds like a bad faith reading of YIMBYism. But Ill watch and see.

The main issue with YIMBYism is that you are essentially putting your faith in the private sector to provide affordable housing. Unfortunately, that's not how it works most of the time as the main goal of the private sector is to maximize its shareholders' profits above all else. Thus there will be many who are left out. In fact, it could potentially worsen the housing crisis as many lower income families will be priced out. A better solution is to simply let the govt. provide housing for all.
