Keeping Barb's with Barb's. I use to have Tinfoil Barb's and they get quite large and they are a schooling fish and need a very large tank. But they are marvelous, the best display of them was at the Smithsonian and the national aquarium. Down in the Amazon they are considered a food fish. I guess the Tiger barb's are a snack.

I have 30 tiger barbs in a 150 gallon tank. They are VERY aggressive because they know their territory. I want to add some bottom dwellers to get ahold of excess food but everything I introduce gets killed. Might try to get 5 clown loaches and add them after they’ve eaten. Thoughts?

Rearrange the ornaments in the tank to make the barbs lose their established territory then add the new fish

First remove tiger barb and change whole setup break their territory and add new fish give them some time to settle then ad tiger barb but some time later after couple of hours

Main reason gouramis won't work is because the long fins. Barbs are slightly agressive and will definitely shred the fins

Tiger barbs tend to nip on long fishtails. Not because they're bad or evil it's because they're very aktive and tend to get bored so you need to keep a larger group of tiger barbs and some tank mates who are same sice and are curious and aktive too.

Prathmesh Aquatics I have a 29g tank with 2 green barbs, 1 blue, 4 blushing, 1 jack ruby and the single redtail. I've added 2 hiding places and more plants to create habitats at low level and mid level. I hope it works, if not I'm going I'm going to replace him with a couple cory cats.
