As of 1994 the Fuchu parabolic antennas were still in use by US/JP alliance. That area was governed by JP self defense army and I was in charge of the rest of the Fuchu base area & Kanto Mura. Lots of weird, interesting factory and machinery, documents were still in Fuchu and ruins mania/photo lovers kept sneaking in. My job was to find them and to tell them to go away. I too loved to take pictures in Kanto Mura and Fuchu Base (you can see my pictures in this video), so I loved my privilege of being a guard there. I was a king of the old US abandoned base!

I lived on Kanto Mura and Fuchu from 1963 - 1966 when I was 10 - 13 years old.

Hi Brian, I (the guy who plays guitar in this song) worked in Kanto Mura as a guard of the national property from 1990 to 1994. I moved to Canada in 1994 and always missed the life in Kanto Mura. I met my old friends in Tokyo after 20 years and played this song, for old times' sake. Memories!

@@sakatacanada FYI, the first base we lived on in 1963 was Washington Heights, which is now Yoyogi Park.

@@n9brb When it became the Internet age, I thought of writing about "my life as a guard in Kanto Mura" and did some research on it. I found Kanto Mura former residents reunion site and read interesting stories (kids sneaked out of the residency and visited a local sweet store & a dollar gave them a fortune to spend) and nice old pictures. I learned that Washington Heights residents were moved to Kanto Mura for the Tokyo Olympics. You were there!

The Washington Hts buildings we move out of in 1963, became the housing for the athletes of the 1964 Olympics.
