Comparing 5 Darksabers! Galaxy's Edge, Force FX Elite, and Neopixel!

My only problem with the Galaxy’s Edge one is the blade. Too much white. If I end up buying it I’ll definitely get the cover showcased. Also it’s surprising that for once the Galaxy’s Edge lightsaber is the smaller one since usually their lightsabers are overly chunky

The reason why the other hilts are chunky is because the sizes are based on interchangeable lightsaber blade. While this Darksaber has it's own unique design, it didn't have much issues with the size. Little big on the emitter but affordable.

The lightsaber hilt weight and compliments the form of swordfighting. I had the Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker galaxy's edge lightsaber and the feel of hilt and blade fits the style. Vader's was heavy, Luke's was very light.

For some reason Disney lightsabers have a SERIOUS delay in the swing effects. I had a hasbro 2013 2 color darth vader lightsaber that was $30 and it was amazing. My biggest regret is that I broke it and lost the parts. Anyway, that lightsaber had a crispy swing effect, the clashing effect was extremely good, and absolutely no delay. Seriously hasbro hit hard with that thing

I chose the force elite darksaber. As a display piece that rests on top of my pc, it’s perfect. Also in pure darkness, or close enough to it, the thin white exposed parts really gives it a “black” blade look with white highlights. Also gotta shout you out as your original review on it was my deciding factor. No regrets.

Definitely glad I went with a neopixel one from neosabers only issue is I wish they would add more “dark saber” fonts to the saber before it ships that way you can kind of tell the whole story of the dark saber

Something cool to note is that LGT sabers and txq have just gotten big upgrades to their basic/budget boards. May take awhile to get to Artsabers but other resellers are selling the newer xeno3 and xeno3 rgbx which are so cooool. Also for that particular neopixel darksaber model, it just recently got even better- TXQ pushed out some new upgrades to the hilt design! I just wish artsabers wasn't so overpriced compared to other sellers like darkwolf or x-trexsabers for the same product.

I got the galaxy edge and I live it, I personally like the thin strip even if it's not accurate. The fact that only 2 of the windows light up is annoying but I have it mostly on display so it doesn't bug me that much so that is my 3 cents

Great Comparison/ Quick Review i'm still sticking with the Force FX Hasbro Black Series Lightsaber as it looks the part, has the weight and SFX are more than fine, plus it's easier to get as compared to the others. If i was going to go with the Galaxy's Edge version the C Cover is the options i'd go for it works really well for that thicker blade, adding the needed black and extra detail i'm annoyed that the Force FX version doesnt have it.

Not sure if you meant it but they don't make the sabers. I think right term is "dropshipping". They mostly sell LGT and some TXQ sabers that others manufacture. That's the way most lightsaber "sellers" work.

Hey Josemaria... Some thing to keep in mind is that their price includes shipping and a one year warranty! Those extra fees often get tacked on and check out without people seeing them on the sticker price. Funny thing is that what we see in the screen is definitely a black. While their screen prop that was introduced in Mandalorian Experience 2022 shown to be a black/silver. (It's actually a color swap from Rebel version)

I went with the Force FX originally, but the 45 minutes to insert the blade drives me crazy. 😂 The Galaxy’s Edge actually went on sale for a couple days online, so I nabbed that along with the cracked decal. I love the flicker and the quick blade install of GE, but I think the Force FX hilt is better overall. So… I guess I’ll keep them both?

Just got the Force FX Elite Darksaber; overall super happy with it! In a way, I'm glad to see that your blade is pretty wabbly too (which I read it was like that before buying it, so it wasn't such a suprise/dissapointment for me), and mine has that weird slight curve to the left too! My OCD hates that, and I wonder why the heck they are crooked like that! If I had the $$$, I would have LOVED being able to get the Neopixel one for sure, but, and this is just a curiosity question...in the video, it looks like the black part of the neopixel blade is kind of "painted" on rather than being a solid matte black plastic peice, which makes it look like the white of the lights kind of "shine through" the black part (which is a HUGE plus of the Force FX one, that it doesn't do that imo). Does it look like that in person? Again, just curious. Thanks for the amazing comparison video and hope you keep cranking out more great vids!

This neopixel model is TXQ Darksaber. It has been told that the matte black layer on the blade is too thin that it exposes a light too much than previous neopixel Darksaber models like Darkwolf or Mando V2 etc. Best bet is to paint with deep black to make it look like a black series.

I think it's purposely done to make it look like the energy is flowing through the entire blade. I'm definitely new to starwars but I've recently gotten into the lore because of the mandalorian series. Neo pixel did it better then Hasbro 👏 🤣. I need to get that lightsaber for my collection. I've had the force effects Vader, and Yoda and they where stolen years ago. But now I need to build my collection back up starting with that lightsaber.

I went with the legacy saber, I made my own Mando suit so I really wanted a hilt that best matches the show. The blade is a big let down. If I’m not mistaken the galaxy edge is as close as you’re going to get because I want to say they designed it straight from the set (not the show after CGI effect )to replicate it for Disney park. Can’t remember where I heard this so I may be wrong. minus the grey probably for costs I would assume or the set hilt is all black and they add CGI for the gray for cinematic reasons. So that’s probably as close as you will get to the set while not breaking the bank! I definitely never have the full blade up when I’m in the suit so it’s just the hilt 95% of the time

Unfortunately.. their official screen prop from Mandalorian Experience 2022 made a legacy Darksaber a huge lie. Hilt may look straight from the set, but they made it even look cheaper with the blade and that's directly contradicting their screen replica concept for the legacy series.😂😂

I'm still waffling about getting a Darksaber. It just doesn't feel for myself, to be the right time. Received my Count Dooku v3 though and it's a blast. Very back heavy design though, like there's a lead weight on the pommel. But it feels more like a arming sword than a lightsaber.

@@FindingTheForce word of advice: The chassis contacts are very thin plates which are very delicate so be careful when you remove it from the hilt AND DON’T twist it or you’ll damage those contacts.

Considering galaxy's edge ones are hard to come by, my only options were Neopixel or Force FX, the Neopixel would be the better choice but it costs me around $550 AUD compared to the Force FX which cost me nearly half that, hence why I'm a few more days I should have the Force FX myself, mainly for a display/show off/cosplay piece Definitely wanna get a Neopixel in the future

check out the kyberlight darksaber. im very happy with my lightsaber which has 3 sounds fonts including darksaber and they are very customizable. has rgb, flash on clash, blaster reflect, and blade lock, aswell as a white flicker option for darksaber profile and a red flicker for darkside profile. cost me $170 + 30 for a couple extra parts to make it my own. darksaber package is a little more but id say much better bang for your buck than galaxies edge or f-fx for the same $$$. also they are rated as ready for sparring??? havent had the chance yet but i wouldnt try with their darksaber's blade, although one could get the darksaber kit and just keep a regular "sparring" blade handy for a quick swap out and go. good stuff

Personally the only problem I have with the neopixel is that the black part is not dark enough. It turns the blade purplish and you can see though it. You can see the line of led's or perhaps its the support for the blade inside? Do you know if that decal that you mentioned would word for the neopixel? Its the only reason I havent picked it up tbh

Unfortunately the decal is made only for legacy Darksaber(Galaxy's Edge) It is true that this TXQ model Darksaber's black layer is pretty thin than the rest of the neopixel Darksabers so far. Unless the warehouse fix that problem, the only option is to make a deep black paint on it. Which means it will cover the cracked effect and become a solid black.

Ok it’s not a comic but it’s from the rebels show, Kanan talk about how your emotions flow through the blade so the more emotionally healthy you are, the lighter the blade is. I haven't watch the Mando TV show yet but like you said since only the worthy can weild the dark saber doesn't that mean the leader of the death watch is worthy? You see him use the saber easily in the old starwars the clone wars episode where obiwan fights him on the moon of mandalore

To be fair no regular person can wield a Lightsaber, but it's unique to the Darksaber for it to "have a mind of its own".

Hasbro toy - Sturdy but not recommend to duel it. (Known as one of the dangerous toy in 2020.) Legacy (Disney Park) - Pretty sturdy. But only for light duel. Black FX Elite - Don't. Only for display. The blade is too wobble. 3rd party RGB - Base lit is meant for dueling purposes. But Darksaber blades are not meant for duel. TXQ model - Sturdy but quite flexible. Not recommend to duel it because it will damange the neopixel strip. Even though the 3rd party blades are made of polycarbonate. But most of the Darksaber blade types are acrylic-like blade, which is easy to break.
