My high school did The Drowsy Chaperone for its fall musical during my freshman year. On the day of our last performance, Bob Martin and Lisa Lambert were special guests and we had a Q&A with both of them before we started the show. They were both so kind.

Parodies Benjamin Stone having a breakdown, center stage in “ Follies,” and Mama Rose, similarly breaking down, in “ Gypsy.” Surely one of the campiest moments in the history of American musical theatre.

I love this musical so much. I'll never forget Jonathan Crombie's face when he said Sutton Foster is amazing. His face lit up and it was late at night but his adoration was real. Just like me, we loved this show so much and Sutton Foster too! I loved Jonathan as the Man in the Chair. I was a little sad though that Bob Martin didn't surprise us when the show was on tour in San Francisco. Janet just had their handsome baby boy so I had to accept that he couldn't tear himself away from him. It is just so entertaining. A great soundtrack. The entire New York cast was fantastic. I only wish we could buy a copy of the show on DVD. My granddaughter and I loved to sing, "I Don't Want to Show Off!"
