Thank you. Quite a while back a bloke I met here in Tokyo mentioned he was from Mansfield and said: "you've probably never heard of it" I told him I had and also Sutton too. He was flabbergasted I was posted to the region during the miners strike working for a French company. I still have very fond memories of the region. Thank you for posting this beautiful video it brought back some memories. have a great day and once again thanks

Some great images. I grew up in Sutton-in-Ashfield, attending Forest Glade Infants and Junior schools. 3:40 - that's later than the 1970s. It's probably the mid to late 80s. There was a long-closed butcher's shop standing where the sand is - J Willey Family Butcher's - until about 1986. And to the right of the image an old house stood which was left to go derelict. The new houses seen under construction went up around the same time the butcher's shop was demolished, in the mid to late 80s.

Good footage! How Sutton has changed, not for the better. Shame the old swimming baths then and now were not included, maybe next time. Well done for a good film!

Great video. Nice to see Sutton in Ashfield on KZbin. I like Sutton. Chip shop just off market place is the best in the county. Great open spaces. Lammas leisure centre is ace.
