for those of you who came here from tiktok, please have respect for powapowa when you comment. while his cause of death was left unreleased, most fans have agreed rhat it was likely suicide given his last song (please hand me a red pen) and the song released after his death (healthy end). he was open about his struggles with his mental health and it is shown as a consistent theme throughout his music. please recognize that he was a real person with real struggles. these songs are not "dark" or "edgy", theyre an honest reflection of his experiences. if you like this song, i would recommend checking out some of his other songs (the most musically similar to this of his i would say is Q) however, he has a large variety in his musical expression and i can honestly recommend all of it i hope that you all come to love powapowa as much as his older fans do. may his legacy live on :)

i'm begging you all, please stop calling this song "edgy" or "emo". powapowa has struggled with severe depression and social pressure throughout his whole life, and most if not all of his songs depict that. he used music to try to convey his feelings towards society, himself and most of all: his future. one of the things he used to talk about the most was how much he wanted to be a child forever. how scared he was of adulthood and losing his innocent view of a world so rotten. mizoguchi ryou, known as powapowa-p, has passed away in 2015 due to assumed suicide. the cause of death was not disclosed, but many (including his friends at the time) believe he took his own life. if that were to be true, we can assume ryou feared his own future so much he would rather die than eventually live through it. it's good that more people are being captivated by this song, i'm sure ryou would've loved the love his work is receiving. just please be mindful that we're talking about the art of a troubled soul who is no longer here. please, have respect for his legacy. rest easy, powapowa. may you find the peace you've always longed for. edit: this comment section is a shitshow.

The weird thing is, PowaPowa was only 20 years old when he died. He was in the Vocaloid scene for 6 years. Started when he was 14?! He was so cool to me! So talented and wise at a young age. One of my favorite Vocaloid producers. I wanted to draw a parody for one of his songs, but when I found out he died, I thought it was inappropriate. I aspire to be like him, hopefully. Every once in a while They get judged fairly, i think The gloomy sun comes back around again Depression takes over me once again Sometimes I can only rely on the rain What should I do? Even love and hate decay Even love and hate decay How do you swallow your words And smile so easily? Writing vague words Writing vague words Because of that, i just Can't convey my trust in you Collecting all the dreams that i abandoned Wait a second! I've made a mistake... Ah, "now and then Now and then I've stumbled" It's cold, it's cold, it's cold, it's cold, it's cold So cold, so cold, so cold, so cold You tell me not to come close 1:21 Ah, your Your Your voice is Distant, distant, distant, distant, distant Don't hurt me Whatever rank I am on your list I don't care, For the sake of me being me I'd held the promises I'd collected I'd held the promises I'd collected The mistakes of today, I swallow them painfully Even love and hate decay Even love and hate decay How do you swallow your words And smile so easily? "Two childish flowers" Of course, of course I wonder if you've abandoned all hope...? Ah, distant dreams That I chase after go Quickly, quickly, quickly, quickly, quickly Quickly, quickly, quickly, quickly I can't reach them Throwing away these desires And leaving them behind Hateful, hateful, hateful, hateful, hateful Hateful, hateful, hateful, hateful Can I not be forgiven? Ah, I watched my dreams And thought that they would come true I'm scared, I'm scared, I'm scared, I'm scared, I'm scared So scared ,so scared, so scared ,so scared Don't come any closer Just keep repeating the words That you use to greet me It's cold, it's cold, it's cold, it's cold, it's cold So cold, so cold ,so cold ,so cold So ,please, just...! Whatever rank I am to you For the sake of me being myself, I don't care...

powapowa has struggled with severe depression and social pressure throughout his whole life, and most if not all of his songs depict that. he used music to try to convey his feelings towards society, himself and most of all: his future. one of the things he used to talk about the most was how much he wanted to be a child forever. how scared he was of adulthood and losing his innocent view of a world so rotten. mizoguchi ryou, known as powapowa-p, has passed away in 2015 due to assumed suicide. the cause of death was not disclosed, but many (including his friends at the time) believe he took his own life. if that were to be true, we can assume ryou feared his own future so much he would rather die than eventually live through it. it's good that more people are being captivated by this song, i'm sure ryou would've loved the love his work is receiving. just please be mindful that we're talking about the art of a troubled soul who is no longer here. please, have respect for his legacy. rest easy, powapowa. may you find the peace you've always longed for.

I'm going to pay my respects here. Hi Powapowa, I hope you are resting easy. I don't know you a whole lot but what I can say is that you are very inspiring and amazing. I hope you are flying high in the sky as well. And thank you for being open and sharing your feelings with us. To his (PowaPowa P) family: I hope all of you are doing very well. I know this is not easy for you all. But I promise, he is resting easy and is at the end of the rainbow bridge, whatever that end is to him. To those who suffer from depression: Anything you do is worth everything. You are loved, you are worthy, and are valid. The venting you do is not "emo" or "edgy". And I hate that generalization.. so much. In addition, you deserve love, not hate. RIP, Powapowa. My condolences are to you. To those who choose to be assholes towards this man, and other people who have mental health issues and still struggles with them: You make me fucking sick. You are a disgrace to others and you are disgusting, vile, and narcissistic. In addition, I hope you also get to feel that same fucking pain that those who commited suicide feel. You are one of the reasons people commit suicide. Before I end this comment, please be mindful of those around you. And, please be respectful in the comment section. To those who have been respectful and kind, I hope you all stay safe, take care of yourself, and remember that you are not selfish. Thank you.

i guess this song has been gaining some traction recently, which is kind of nice, because i adore siinamota's music and i think more people should hear it. but a lot of the recent comments don't sit right with me. siinamota died six years ago, but he is so much more than his death. i don't want him to be remembered for his death, i want him to be remembered for all of his music. you don't need to force an "RIP" into every comment you make about him, because he's so much more than his death. siinamota's music is wonderful, but i'm really feeling like it's reaching the wrong audience right now. it's reaching people who aren't able to respect siinamota or his work and that's what upsets me. i don't want shoujo a or any of siinamota's songs to be remembered as some sort of trend, i want them to be truly listened to, i want people to listen to them and try to understand them, because siinamota's writing is so beautiful and it captures so many feelings it's like looking into a time capsule to his emotions. and also, for what it's worth, this translation is inaccurate. check out the translation by angelsubs. and please, please just be respectful.
@wingednotepad2 жыл бұрын
i agree. im glad more people are finding his work but its pretty clear that not everyone is coming from a good place. paying their respects in the comment section feels more like they felt they had to than any sort of sincerity. it really bothers me how often they call his songs edgy or clearly suicidal. while some of them are, the large majority of them cover an array of different subjects. i hope the people here come to appreciate him for who he was and what he did rather than his final actions.
@wingednotepad2 жыл бұрын
also like half the comments saying rip either say "this person" or "this artist". its not that hard to credit him. his name is plastered all over the comments and the video itself :/
@frostyclouded2 жыл бұрын
@@wingednotepad ^^^ exactly. in general i feel like the vocaloid community feels obligated to pay respects by adding (rip) after every dead producer's name but at least they bother to learn their names. if people aren't going to actually respect siinamota and his work then maybe it's a good thing that the community surrounding him is small :/

It's been annoying me as well. I started listening to his songs since I was 11 years old with Sky Fish, which really resonated with me just like most of his songs. And, before anything, his compositions are creative, magical and emotional. It's cruel that his songs are being remembered as this edgy culture phenomenon of "it's a song by that guy who died" or as just the conflicting feelings in the subtext of his songs. The musical composition of his songs is amazingly creative and captivating, his lyrics are like stories and fairytales, and the songs in general manage to be lively but melancholic, emotional but narrative, straightforward but mysterious, etc. It might be too personal but I've related to the feelings implicit in his song more than the ideal (and, yes, as early as 11 years old). By the time he started expressing that discontentment with growing up I was going through the same as well. In all honesty the events were the wake up call for me that stopped things from going worse. But his songs are still significant, the stories he tells shouldn't be reduced to an anguish metaphor, his musical abilities shouldn't be disregarded to just consider the lyrics, etc. Internet culture makes it easy to reduce people and artists to only one aspect but it's also easy to notice that and start appreciating things as they really are.

I'm Ukrainian and I found this song two days before the war began. I remember listening to it on the last somewhat peaceful days, driving past a newly built mall that was destroyed by russian invaders just a couple weeks later. The news about the russian army nearing the border were already everywhere. I already had a bad, *bad* feeling. I remember listening to it on repeat again in a basement I had to hide in from the bombings once the war began and relating to the lyrics on a whole different level. The dreams I and the many people of my country had to throw away because of this entire situation... The pleads for all of it to end... It all felt so strangely relatable... Update: thank you guys SO much for your support

Its been two years since i last heard this song, it brings so many memories. Ive been struggling with chronic depression and suicidal thoughts for three years so far, and this really hit home for me and when i first saw the English lyrics for this song. I met a friend that grew so close to me the first year that ive been struggling with this horrible parasitic feeling i get from time to time. If it wasn't for her i would probably be dead right now, i am so lucky that i finally found someone who loves me. I have never told anyone about my feelings or my mental condition, until i told my friend that i was going to hurt myself. She contacted someone and they talked to me for hours. Im so lucky that she saved me that night. This is a reminder to always be kind to everyone and be empathetic when talking about these serious things. You never know when you might lose a loved one very close to you. So check up on anyone you haven't seen or heard from in a while and ask them if they are doing alright. And to talk to someone about your mental state and how you are feeling. It's never the better option to keep these things to yourself, talk to anyone you trust so you can get help in any way possible. Once again i say this with all of my heart, its never the better option to keep these things to yourself and let it get out of control, hurting or killing yourself is not the answer. Anyways, i hope anyone dealing with these terrible things gets help as soon as possible.

Excuse me, I have a question to ask. Before that, thank you dearly for uploading what seems such a good translation of one of my favorite persons. But in the "AiSoBakaDesu" translation, there is a line where he came up with "But what number, what number for the sake of me being me", which you see as "Whatever rank I am on your list, I don't care, for the sake of me being me". Which one do you see the fittest, or is it up to interpretation? Thankss

Alraisen Avecesdario Thank you, it's so cool to see someone interested in the translation! AiSo translated that line literally (but what eye rank), but that doesn't exactly make sense, so I asked some friends from Japan. The phrase is just an expression and is not make to be taken literally, like "don't put the cart before the horse" or something. So I put down the English translation of the expression rather than the literal text.

lyrics are really sad but at the same time i can resonate with it, pretty sad that the creator passed away, his last few twitter comments are really poetic yet super depressing. rest in peace.

Its important not to romanticize suicide. Suicide is a horrible, terrible thing to befall on someone and their family. Let's take this song and not see it as "He's now at peace flying away in heaven," but as " Let's make sure this won't happen to us or anybody else."

Even though I'm a 14 year old girl I don't like tik tok and I never should go on there because this is one of the reasons why, all this poor guy wanted was to express his feelings with everyone, but they mocked him for it and he was going through so much depression, though the song is good but the lyrics represent the pain he was going through and young kids on tik tok at the age of 12 have to know that there are people who are going through so much pain and put it into song His story in this song when I found the true meaning of it I realized that I have the same exact issue that I’m still going through that he went through, I have Autism and I have a lot of stress like depression, anxiety, and anger, I had a lot of trouble making friends in real life and I remember on Instagram I had problems there too like creeps, broken up relationships, and people who made fun of me for who I was, and in real life if someone were angry they would take it out on me, I also made some mistakes that I regret and I wanted to commit suicide, but having hope in my life I'm still alive and this guy didn't have it because everyone took it from him and I have that same pain he went through where he wanted help but no one could help him because I've been made mean comments and made fun of too like he was, I had friends who had Autism or not but when I lost them all I had a lot of trouble being with someone with the pain I was going through and thank god do to one person on Insta I was able to connect with someone who had Autism but who had grown up and became an adult, she and I became best friends and unfortunately I said something mean to her and we decided to spilt up but now I have a new best friend who also needs help too but and seeing he had no one to help him is the reason why I find it sad If I could go back in time I would tell him the pain I would go through and he would have someone who would be able to support him, so if you all are going through a lot of depression talk to me or talk to someone else that had the same pain as he did because you're not alone. Rest in Piece PowaPowa-P
