The Suunto D4i Novo builds on the hugely popular D4i recreational dive computer with a new cosmetic update featuring new colours, silicone strap and colour matched body to make it one of the best looking dive computers available.
The Suunto D4i Novo has all the features of the original D4i including Air, Nitrox, Free diving and gauge modes, partial dot matrix display, back lit screen, optional wireless air integration and pc/mac interface via the supplied USB interface cable.

Hi, I just got the Suunto D4i but I only see the option Dive Air, I don't have the arrows in the screen to switch between Air, Nitrox, Free drive etc... is something wrong, is it a settings that I'm missing or something? Please help out...

I have the D4i computer and have upgraded from the Zoop. I have used the D4i for a while and noticed that there is no tissue loading bar graph on the left side as the Zoop has. Is this normal or do I not have it set up correctly? If this feature is not on this computer how do I know if I am getting near the limits without this?

Hey Mohammad_q7, Suunto have changed the menu layout since this video. You now change the dive mode from the time screen. While displaying the time hold the 'down' button down and cycle through the dive modes to select Nitrox. You can then change your % the normal way Safe Diving,

Hi there - I can no longer access Dive Mode - only 'free' and 'off'. When i dive it automatically logs my dives but i cant manage to figure out how to get 'dive air' mode back on as i need to connect my new transmitter..... may be an easy fix but cant for the life of me figure out what to do! Any help would be appreciated!! Thanks :)

Hey +Olivia Marshall, If you've scuba dived in freedive mode the computer won't let you back into dive mode for 48hrs because it hasn't been recording your decompression profile. If you haven't dived it in freedive mode then I can forward the case to Suunto for their diagnosis. Safe Diving, Mark

Hey +Eugene Hernandez it's a bayonet type fitting with a red dot on the computer and another on the cable. Line up the two red dots and turn the cable until it holds in position. Hope that helps, Safe Diving, Mark

+Simply Scuba Hey Mark, I figured that was how to go about it but the red dot wasn't as aligned as I had hoped and twisting the cable might break. Did it gently anyway and finally got it connected. Much thanks!

You might wait a couple of weeks as there is the D5 coming out around the corner. You could then have a D4i novo at a bargain...or go for the D5 😊

Juanitotronic if you hold down the MODE button it will activate the backlight, you can read more on this on page 21 of your user manual. If you have any other questions please feel free to ask. Safe Diving, Mark

Simply Scuba You should put every watch you test on your arm in order to give us a possibility to estimate the size. In this way, I can't (don't) see any size difference between an D6i and a D4i. Thanks!

Thanks BokiXI, we'll keep this in mind for our computer videos. If you're comparing the size of the D6i and the D4i; the D4i is about 1mm wider and thicker but lighter by nearly 20g. I've used both teaching and they are both top notch computers and so easy to use. The exact dimensions can be found on Suunto's website www.suunto.com/ Safe Diving, Mark

Simply Scuba Thanks for your answer Mark. Do you see any advantage/disadvantage of buying D4i vs D6i? I had a D6i all black steel which I gave up on since it was too bulky to handle in the everyday life and the steel bracelet was not so practical when diving (difficult to adjust). I am looking for a computer that could replace my everyday watch as well (have a 20 year old aqualand now).
