Suunto Vector - How to calibrate a compass

Thanks yet again, I just got my trusty old Vector a new service kit and battery, and recalibrated.

It's easier to stand in place hold the watch steady and turn your whole body in a circle AND keep pressing the lower left button until the word "done" flashes then you are finished and the compass is very very accurate when you set the declination. It matches up to their famous world compass.

I don’t think that you have to keep pressing the lower left button. I just calibrated mine outside just now. No need to hold or continually press any buttons.

My vector is over 15 yrs old, 8 trips to Afghanistan. I'm going to miss her when she's done. I'm sure the end is near. Vectors are no longer being produced

I don't rely a thing on my Ti Observer's compass. A bloody rubbish! One has to calibrate its compass daily. Thank you for the torture, Suunto. No Suunto for me ever again.

Make sure you’re going slowly and waiting until the LCD tick-marks around the circumference are disappearing as you slowly turn.
