My wife and I heard this song on our first date. I smiled when it started. She asked me why I was smiling. I said “Just because.” I knew then. I bought her engagement ring 3 weeks later. We’re about to celebrate our 28th wedding anniversary. Thank you for 28 love filled years Tracy!

In the mid 80s, fresh out of college, I was a kid from the Midwest living in Los Angeles and dating a beautiful Southern California girl. It was a time of discovery for me as the first time out on my own. Many nights, she and I would lay tangled up in bed naked; still glistening and breathless from intimacy. The windows would be open with the breeze moving the curtains while this music played on KTWV. We were young and at the top of our game. Neither of us had bellies or wrinkles or life's troubles weighing down on us. Our lives were spread out ahead of us like presents under the tree on Christmas morning. We would have laughed at anyone who tried to tell us that we wouldn't be young forever. That was 38 years ago. I'm over 60 and have been married for almost 30 years. My wife is an amazing mom and grandma, and i love her dearly. I have long since lost track of my beautiful Southern California girl, but I can still remember her eyes locked on mine in our many passionate moments. Life is good, and I wouldn't change a thing. But... given the chance, I would go back, just for one night, to that cramped apartment in LA. I would be naked and entwined with that girl who I don't even know anymore. The window would be open, this music playing, and the curtains moving gently in the warm breeze of my youth all those many years ago.

I heard this song on NPR's "Hearts of Space" shortly after it came out. I didn't catch the name of it but I managed to record the end of it on a cassette and listened to it over and over, until the tape broke and could not be repaired. I looked for it and bought all of Suzanne's records I could find (not many in rural America!) but never found it (though the albums were wonderful too). I've been looking for this song for over 30 years, since I was 14, and finally here it is... and it's just as amazingly strong and delicate and heartbreaking and transcendent as I remember. Thank you!

Hopefully by now you have also found that you can purchase this particular album and the rest of Ciani's amazing music on Amazon. They are still available. I'm fortunate that I discovered her music when this album was first released and I have it along with her first one, Seven Waves, on vinyl as well as the later CDs.

I have been listening to this song for several months through channel 948 of DirecTV (Venezuela) Stingray New Age. Whenever I listen to her, I feel the presence of my father, recently deceased, on March 23. Feeling it gives me peace and I feel protected, it makes me feel safe. Listening to it and being able to write in a language that I am sure will not read will make me be spontaneous and show my true interior. I have had a life full of secrets that keep quiet, making me see what I am not to protect myself; a very lonely life that has brought me to this day when I feel more afraid than ever to lose my precious solitude and the protection of my great secrets. Thanks to Suzanne Ciani for creating such a beautiful and inspiring work that is capable of opening the soul to a lonely loner that many believe has no feelings. Thank you.

I have found you after so many years. Oh my dear one, your song was and is a beacon of light from one of my darkest nights of so many. When my most beloved and my closest friends were dying and died, your song was a buoy in my darkness to help me from drowning in despair and sorrow. Now as I look back and hear your song , I feel an aching sadness. But I will always recall that your song sent me thru space and time with the Velocity of Love which is faster than sound and light, to the ones I loved in our time of need. I hope someone will come to me with the velocity of love when I call.

This is beautiful Suzanne! I want to make music like this. What I like about it is its tonal simplicity. Just a really nice piano part, strings backing up the piano, a pretty harp in the background, and then a nice synth lead to respond to the piano part. And it’s not based on looping and one wouldn’t need tons of gear to achieve this. I love it! Thank you, I’m really inspired. 🎹 ❤️

Solo existen ritmos enfebrecidos, timbres rotos, estímulos despertados. Música inexorable a través de días y noches. Melodías llenas de imágenes de amor, dulzura y pasión. Es la Religión de la música de la Nueva Era.

When the original KTWV "The Wave" was just starting in the Los Angeles metro area in the mid-80s, this was being played a lot. And why not, this is proof there's a heaven! I was in college then, and this piece was so moving, I got the very first Wave Aid album. Lots of great selections in those Wave Aids. They're stored somewhere in the house... While some people will say this music is too sappy, they'll know if they're lucky enough to reach Paradise that it really is heaven -inspired.

I bought this when it was released. And on a date, with my soon to be fiancé, I played it knowingly. She looked at me sternly and said ‘are you deliberately trying to make me cry?’ I think that’s what it’s meant to do. Bring an emotional response that close to the emotion love is.
