enjoyed watching this. my new in 2012, 1250 bandit had a touring scott oiler fitted onto my brand new bike by the suzuki main dealer, all the pipe work to the chain was INCORRECT the outlet pipe lay midway between the sprockets, more oil went onto the rear tyre than the sprocket, the outcome was allmost falling off on more than one occasion, i returned the bike on 4 occasions for the fault, but all they did was bend the plastic pipe, i removed the oiler and it cost me £130 for a new tyre

Thank you for this video! I bought a GSX1250 FA and the Scottoiler that was already on the bike was in the wrong place...going to the front sprocket, but now i know how to move it what i need to fit it properly, Thanks again , ride safe and stay shinny side up :)

I honestly think the Scottoiler recommendation of drip rates of 1-2 drops per is excessive? Let me explain some calculations. Scottoiler says the 135 ML reservoir should last 1200 Kms One drop is usually .05 ML so the reservoir has 2700 drops in total. Let us take an average speed of 40 kmph. The bike would cover 1200 Km in 30 hours of riding time, or 1800 Minutes. If we divide 27000 drops by 1800 minutes we get 0.06 drop/Minute of flow rate. 0.06 drops/Min equals to 1 drop in 15 minutes!

Jak się sprawdza ta olejarka w perspektywie czasu? Często trzeba coś regulować, żeby tak samo kapało? I czy na postoju po wyłączeniu silnika nic nie będzie kapać?

great video, ive just got myself a gsx 1250 fa, (2010). will look at the v feeder tho to do both sides of chain. Do you find is has helped the chain?

Thank you for the informative video, very clear and very precise. One question if I may, how do you know which tube to cut for the vaccum pipe to insert the T adaptor? Is there only one or multiple tubes.....

I really wished that you would have trimmed the lenght of the feed line and swapped it out for a black one. Look horrible with see through line.

I've read that setting the Scottoiler up this way ends up only getting lube on 1 side of the chain. Does this coincide with your experience?

They have a double sided kit you can buy if if you aren't seeing lube on both sides.

The science behind the oil viscosity and the forces present at the sprocket is the film of oil and crushing forces of the sprocket on the chain rollers will spread the oil (over a short time) to the other side. Outside of providing a anti-corrosion barrier on chains, preventing cake build up with the traditional tacky lubes, the purpose of chain lubricant is to reduce the friction present where the chain side plates and rollers are pivoting every time they round a sprocket. Another point of friction is when a sprocket tooth initially contacts the chain rollers. The main chain lube is sealed in the O- or X-ring chain rollers. The outside lube is to keep the O- or X- rings freed as they pivot against the side plates and rollers.

A czym pan wcześniej smarował łańcuch ? Bo jedni mi mówią, żebym smarował olejem przekładniowym ( obecnie tak smaruje, lecz strasznie syfi wszystko dookoła i oponę co raczej bezpieczne nie jest ), a jeszcze inni polecają smary w sprayu i co tu wybrać ? Jaki smar jest tani/dobry oraz godny polecenia

Wcześniej stosowałem smary w spraju. Wygodne w użyciu, dobrze smarujące i i niebrudzące wszystkiego w około. Używałem różnych marek i większość ma podobne parametry.

Też smaruję przekładniowym i końcówka olejarki jest taka sama jak w scottoilerze- problemów z chlapaniem na oponę nie mam. Można też pędzelkiem smarować, ale nie nakładać za dużo oleju, bo wtedy faktycznie może zrobić się bałagan.

+Reader Przekladniowy olej jest ok ale najlepiej jest stosowac olej do pil lancuchowych bo trzyma sie lancucha jak cholera i nie rozbryzguje.

I could never understand the importance of oiling one side of the chain.?? Been using cans for eon, only because it spray oils both sides of the chain. !!!!!
