Suzuki Bandit GSF 1200 N - Engine Oil Change (HD)

Without fresh oil the engine shouldn't be started after 10 years, so let's change it. The oil filter didn't wan't to go, so it was time to try an alternative way with a screw driver and hammer :)
TOOLS:
- cross screw driver

MATERIAL:
- paper towels
- 3,3 litre of engine oil 10 W40 suitable for motorcycles with wet clutch
- oil filter

This is good, except one fact - the new oil filter is dry. Once you start the engine and let it running, turn it off, let is cool down and then fill missing oil that now is in the new filter.

You're right. Thanks. There is not much that will go onto the oil filter, but still, one should check it and fill up.

I had a stuck on filter once on my FZ6. I tried hammering a screwdriver into it and it was stuck to bad that it started to shred the filter housing completely off. I was able to get a big pair of channel locks onto it and free it with force. Nowadays if it feels stuck I just go straight to the channel locks so that never happens again. In this instance it worked as you could see the filter move before it shredded the metal. Don't do what I did and shred the whole thing if it doesn't move at first.

How many oil bottles do you need to complete the oil change?

Depends on how big the bottles are. You need 3.3 Litres.

Where is the vid that it fired up? So far i watched your carb cleaning, valve adjustment, carb mounting to engine, then this oil change.

There is no such one, I didn't think it was necessary at the time 😀 Anyway, the carbs are clogged and dirty again because of the bio part on the gasoline (10% here) so I have to do a quick clean again and then it cab be with a start of course.
