I've had people question me if the Suzuki Boulevard C50 / C50T could be used for touring and discuss it in this video. Ride safe.

Completely agree with your assessment on the C50T. I’ve had mine for about 7 years now and I have toured all around Georgia, Alabama, North & South Carolina and it is perfectly suited for the 2-lane country roads. I’ve done some interstate highways but that’s not where it excels. You are correct in your comment - if that’s the riding you do mostly, a bigger and heavier Harley or Indian with cruise control and a fairing is probably better. With my Mustang seat, I can ride all day no problem. Great vlog. Thanks for sharing.

GA Ramblin Man, Thanks for the comment. I spent this past weekend touring the countryside for a couple days, which is what I love to do - 2 lane, see the countryside, meet new folks, and take a few pictures here and there. Ride safe.

I owned a C50 a few years back, and you're right; it is perfect for cruising down backroads at 55-60mph all day long. It is perfectly able to run at Interstate speeds as well, but the revs may get a tad high for those taking extended trips. With a 6th gear or even a MUCH taller 5th gear, this bike would be pretty great on the long highway trips as well. The rider triangle is super-comfortable, and the platform is bulletproof. Great breakdown of the different types of riding by the way!

Can this bike do 80 comfortably?
@GenomePresents3 жыл бұрын
@@jDot2414 It can certainly do 80 with a reasonable amount of comfort, but it does tend to get a bit revved-out at those speeds, which causes it to be a bit "buzzy". Nothing to really worry about on short hops, but it would not be ideal for the long hauls.

Very Good Vlog. You are so on point with your comments!! I too own a C50T, while its not as fun on major Hwys and Interstates, its a whole lot of fun on the back rode rides for a couple hours or all day. I do wish from time to time for a larger bike 1300 to 1500 cc, but again the bulk of my riding is easily handled by the Suzuki C50T. I did in April get my Mustang seat which was a real nice up grade. Take Care & Stay Safe.
@rendlerendle4 жыл бұрын
Ric Miller: thanks for the comment. So far I haven't had any issues and the C50T climbs the mountain highways well, so I can't justify the expense of switching to a larger bike. The Mustang seat was one of the best mods I made and really has made the trips I take more enjoyable. Thanks again and ride safe.

You are preaching to the choir here on the two-lane touring. Accessorize it to make it yours, and a C50 can be absolutely the best machine for the job. My '08 is sure fine...

Bill White, thanks for the comment. Touring is my favorite thing. There's not much scenery on the interstate highways. I like cruising into a new small town and finding the old historic buildings and landmarks. I like to leave plenty of wiggle room in my route so I've got extra time to explore a little. That way I'm not pressed to get miles behind me to get to a hotel or cabin, able to enjoy the day. Ride safe. Cheers.

I love your video. I just bought a c50T up here in Canuckistan and I'm looking forward to a whole bunch of 4-8 hour single lane rides out through the rocky mountains where I can stop and just enjoy the scenery. My cousin just bought an Indian Super Chief Limited, insane bike, I know, but spoke so highly of this Suzuki Boulevard C50 for a great choice for a "get back into riding" choice, and I cant wait to ride with him. Thanks for your excellent "every day joe" video. We dont have a long riding season up here, April through October until its -405000 degrees again. Cant wait to put some miles on it. I just bought a 2003 Volusia yesterday and I’m in love. The only bike I ever rode before this one is a little 230cc duel sport so this is a big big bike compared to what I have learned on. It’s got plenty enough power for me and it was really really cheap to buy...awesome bike for the money (mine has just under 11k miles on it and I gave less than $1000 before taxes and dmv fees)

I've had mine since 2011. I've had fun riding it and took it on vacation twice and road trips from Ohio to Virginia. The only issue I've had was a wire bundle comming from the computer had 1 wire rub through shorting out to the frame keeping it from starting. Repaired the issue and so far no other issues. Only gripe I have is it's hard to find any accessories to make it truly yours. I have found a fairing, tour box and medium sized hard bags for it and highway bars and a back rest. Ride safe and have fun😊

Enjoy your style video. Me on my Shadow Aero 750 and brother on his C50T have toured most of the USA and even part of Canada. Toured like your definition. Even when we do hit the Interstate, we seldom exceed 60mph. While they will do the higher speed, it just ain't a pleasant experience to me. Brother, on the other hand, doesn't care and still enjoys the faster speed. The problem is the C50 burns more gas and we have to make more stops. He goes into panic mode when the last bar on the fuel gauge is showing :)

Willia Jabir, thanks for the comment. I enjoy seeing the countryside and the sights so that takes me off the interstate highways most of the time. I've hammered the interstate 70-75 mph with no problems but its not my thing, I enjoy the sights on the back roads and tend to meet a lot of nice folks. My brother has a 900 Kawasaki Vulcan Classic and it has a bit bigger tank. But truthfully, when the gauge gets low I'm ready to take a break anyway, so its all good. Ride safe.

I recently did a short 3 day tour, riding from Kansas through Colorado to New Mexico. Spent most of the time around Taos and Red River, New Mexico. There was 4 of us. One on a BMW; one on an Indian; one on a Harley trike; and me on my Suzuki C50T. All were much bigger displacement bikes, and I had no problem keeping up with them, even through the mountains. Only on quick acceleration did I really notice a difference. I used a Kuryakyn Vagabond seat bag for extra storage. My bike is stock, although I may upgrade to a Mustang seat and replace the saddlebags with some better quality Viking bags. I may also change to a taller windshield. Do you have any recommendations?

Hello Wayne DuBusk, thanks for the comment. Google 7jurock.com and see if they still make the taller windshields. Yours is not a C50T. It is a customized C50. I had a 2005 C50T that had about 20k miles when I bought it and I added another 20k. I loved it as a tourer and daily commuter which could be from 50 - 100 miles per day. I bought a 2005 C90T for me and the wife and my son rode the C50T. I had a used 98 M50 prior with a small windshield and soft bags and put about 20k on that bike too. My wife quit riding so my C90T has become a stripped down version of herself with a Rifle fairing, solo seat and bags. Love them all.
@rendlerendle3 жыл бұрын
Randy, thanks for the comment. No, the bike is actually a C50T. A call to Suzuki when I bought it confirmed by VIN. The badging etc is all C50T also. I contacted the previous owner and he had kept the bags etc, reused them on another bike, and would not sell it back to me. But that turned out OK because the bags I have are a little larger than the stock bags. I've really enjoyed the C50T and find it a really comfortable bike. If things open up in 2021 I'm planning a 7-9 day ride. 2020 didn't pan out too well with all the COVID shutdowns. Thanks again and ride safe.
