Wish I had watched this video and done this before today! I'm sitting here wating for a friend to get me from the Bronx to drive me home 35 miles away and back here. It was such a nice day I decided to put the jacket in the Scooter instead of taking it into my site visit. I realized immediately as I got back that I left the key in the jacket! Damn. Cant wait to get this set up.

after the key release finally failed me, leaving me standing beside the bike with my helmet, gloves and jacket locked in the trunk i had to do this. i tried a different rig but ended up using the fishing leader like you. i ran the cable along the right side of the seat and attached it under the bolt near the front of the seat. wish i could put up a pic but you get the idea. totally stealth and works perfectly. thank you for the tip !

I've seen the issue on the BUSA website but didn't see the solution. Excellent idea using the fishing leader. Another great video from the Man cave Mayhem. Thanks for sharing the details. I've never put my keys in the trunk but have thought of what to do if the cable wouldn't function. Now I know.

Nice video, the plastic on right side covered by the seat when closed, I clear Gorilla taped the pull ring there. You'll be able to get your finger under the seat enough to pull it out an open it and won't be any leader showing. I also put that clear tape down on plastic first so as not to scratch it. Your video's are great, you go slow and teach us newbies how to work on our scoots.

I attached to lock post just like you but used a 9" leader running it through a 6" piece of stiff clear fuel tubing then the small key ring. The stiff tubing holds the key ring up under the lip of the seat out of sight unless you squat down and peek up under the seat edge. The tubing also serves as a conduit protecting the cable from getting pinched.

I’m not sure on that. I would be hard-pressed to figure that out. It’s very difficult to diagnose a motorcycle. If I’m not there to look at it, I would check on my fuses and connections. Make sure there’s been no water infiltration in any of the areas of the bike, that’s where I would start.
