Dude I love your videos. I’m a senior rider that’s got arthritis in both hands, gout in my left foot, and a bad back also. I really wanted to start riding again, but a clutch and gears were out of the question. It was your videos that convinced me to buy a pre owned Burgman Executive. A nice one owner bike with low miles, and man do I LOVE it! I was on the fence between this Burgman, or a Tmax. The Yamaha is a nice bike, but not $15k nice. And going into debt for a bike just isn’t in my DNA. I rode Harley’s for 35yrs, and they’re great bikes. But I just can’t ride em anymore. I picked up a one owner Executive in mint condition and paid cash for it. Your videos convinced me 100 percent to buy a Burgman, and get into the wind again. I don’t have an ounce of buyers remorse, and the bike is everything you said it was. Thanks for these great videos! It helped me make up my mind, and pull the trigger. Safe and happy riding to you brother!

I am pleased to hear this. Riding is like therapy. Things like arthritis seem to just melt away for a bit as soon as you twist a throttle. Stay safe out there brother.

couple points about scooter vs MC. 1) Heat from engine. My ST1300, which I bought new in 06, is simply to hot too ride on hot days, becoming uncomfortable in temperatures above like 75. Unsafe above 80 degrees in city stop and go because you simply get cooked. I've had mild heat stroke on it many times. Not a problem on my 650 Bergman. BIG PLUS. 2) no chain to mess with. Most MC have chain drive and it is a dirty and ongoing job to keep the chain happy. (excepting shaft and belt drive MC of course.) I too would like to see the new 750 Honda scooters in the US. But really, they still have chain drive, I think. The NC750X is essentially the same platform, but set up as an MC. It can be had with either a manual or DCT. Change the street tires out on an NC750X and it's actually quite capable off pavement. (Cousin of the Africa Twin.) Engine placement down low. Similar to scooter. But, there is a chain.

In my opinion, its okay to talk about topics that other people have covered. Different opinions are always good. If I had to choose between different motorcycles and could only have one, I would choose something thats reliable, stylish, has a bunch of customization support so that I wouldnt get tired of the same look and no more than 600cc.

Burgman 650 all the way. Choice made😁. Best one up tourer I’ve ever owned.

Awesome all weather long range commuter too. Combines amazing comfort, very good economy, excellent performance (with the "warp drive" button when you need it!), and all that storage - secure storage too! Just the best machine in its class.

Have a TW200, KLR650, HD Deluxe and a Electra Glide but now I’m starting to like this Burgman 650, as I’ve tip the age of 60 and my youth has caught up to me the Burgman 650 might be the over all ride for me, the most off paved road I do now is gravel and forest roads and the Burgman appears to be ok with that type of road.

When you drive the american highways - that's no question! Bugman 650 is the only one. I'm driving the curves in the german black forrest and that is also no problem for the 650 !

Hiya Mirrormask I'm hailing from the UK and love your vid's. You make me laugh lol. Anyhoo, I love my Burgervan so much. So underrated as a bike. I actually traded a 2009 Goldwing and a Yammy Virago 1100 for it. Do I regret it ? No way hose. Best thing I ever did. I love it ! I'm in the process of pimping it up with everything I had on my wing. Putting a half ton wing on the centre stand when you have Osteo arthritis in your knee joints. It's painful. Keep up the good work my man.

As I sit here listening to your conversation I'm watching you drive down the road and wondering one thing. I also own a 2011 Burgman 650 Executive. I love my bike and while there are a few things I plan to change on it I can honestly say for the money I paid it's already paid for it self. The Burgman 650 is no slouch by any means. For a luxury touring scooter its been my finding that its under estimated by alot of other bikers .The big question I get a lot from people. "Is it slow on the take off?" HELL NO! it ain't slow by any means. When I first bought mine I pulled up to a traffic light a Harley 883 was sitting next to me in the other lane. the guy looks over at me and revs hit throttle abit as if to challenge me. while he's sitting there revving his bike the light goes green and I twist the throttle and I'm gone. I get t the next light a quarter mile down the road its red and I slow down to stop for it. the 833 was still in my rear view. of course those guys that own 883 can only do a top speed of 90 mph. I've had my Burgman 650 executive to 115 mph. (what was Harley thinking when they built that embarrassment?..hahaha) Any ways what I was wondering on your ride was after you got on the high way why you didn't switch over to manual ? As for things I would have liked to have seen change before they discontinued the 650's or if they decide to bring them back at some point. 1. Upgrade the motor to 1400 cc. Give it the power of a true luxury touring bike. Put a 150 lbs on your pillion and take your bike out for a ride you'll better understand why I say upgrade to a 1400 cc. 2. Add air ride suspension. While the burgman as a good suspension any one that has had the air ride will tell you it's worth the money. 3. Cruise control would be really nice on those long rides 4. A full tour package consisting of a 56 liter trunk and matching side bags. 5. Bigger wheels. rather than using moped wheels use actual motorcycle wheels. 6. A 1000 watt bluetooth sound system. it's a luxury touring scooter you gotta have a sound system. 7. A real back rest for the driver thats more than just a cute little pillow. Everything in my list above with the exception of #1. at some point will be added to my executive.
@MirrormaskMV3 жыл бұрын
I agree with everything you just said. There are many things I wished they would have changed or added for the better. As far as switching to manual. I Don't really have any particular reason for not switching to manual in the video. I guess on that day I just didn't do it. But manual gives you a ton more get up and go for sure. It lets you use more of the Rev range.

Been riding two up on my 650 for years. I'll be 72 years old next week and still ride. We average about 10,000 Km per year. I've had a 2007 Burgman 400, then an 07 Burgman 650 and now a 2015 Burgman 650 with over 59,300 km. Enjoy

I'm wanting to do some x-country touring. See America...backroads, asphalt only. Looking at Suzuki V Strom 1000xt or a Burgman 650 Exec. Store has both new in stock...2018 model years priced right. I'm 60 years old and like you alluded to, I need more comfort. Which would you buy? Will the Burgman haul a 230 lb.. guy and some gear across America? No interstate...I want to see the countryside. Thinking the Burgman with a top box and a 35L dry bag strapped to the passenger seat plus underseat storage would be enough.
@MirrormaskMV4 жыл бұрын
The burgman will handle that with no problem

I'm in my 60s and my wife and I often tour on my Burgman 650. We have a top case, panniers and a tunnel bag in addition to the bike's stock storage, making her very happy...over 200 liters. I recently rode a new Honda Goldwing DCT and felt that the Burgman was, for my purposes a better choice. The Goldwind has more power and features but the Burgman has ample power and in my opinion, more comfortable for shorter tours. The Burgman is also much easier on the pocketbook. In the Honda's defense, if I planned a coast to coast tour, the Goldwind no doubt would be the better choice - except for the storage...and cost.

@@sludolph4382 Thanks for the opinions. Let me ask, I would definitely be touring solo and likely less gear than you and your wife...but I would want to tour longer distances. Would you say the Burgman is capable? I trust the Burgman...mybonly hesitance really is basic maintenance seems a little less simple compared to an ADV like a vstrom.

Be careful! I had both hands off the handlebars for only a split second, and it started to wobble so fast at only 50mph, and I couldn't regain control. Not fun. I feel there is something is very wrong with the balancing of the front wheel.

Either the balance of the front wheel or your suspension rebound at different speeds on each side of the wheel
