Hey thanks for this Vid. I know its a few years old now but I'm about to change chain and sprockets on my DR for the first time so this was very, very helpful. Thanks.

Love the video. Where did you get your sprockets? JT website says they don't have a 44-tooth rear sprocket for the dr650. Thanks

Thanks for watching, My local dealer sourced them

@@MOTODANS no problem, do you have any part numbers on the 44? I’m trying to get one and can’t find anyone who has them.
@MOTODANS2 жыл бұрын
I do not unfortunately that was awhile ago. I could only find it to suit a 520 chain I couldn't find any with the stock 525 sized chain if that aids your search?

@@MOTODANS ok thanks I’ll keep looking. Thanks for the fast response ride safe

Hi Dan, How are you liking the 520? Any ill effects, such as higher vibrations or anything else?
@MOTODANS2 жыл бұрын
Hey Cindy, I have done around 2000kms so far and haven't noticed anything different. So I am not for or against. I would just go with what ever you can get a hold of with the gearing to suit your needs. The 15/44 I am running suits me fine and will save me switching front sprockets.

If you haven't found one yet, Motion Pro 08-0070 Mini Chain Press Tool, works slick! Small and inexpensive. How do you keep the drive side cam from moving when tightening the rea axle nut? It always moves on me.
@MOTODANS2 жыл бұрын
I haven't got one yet. I will check out the motion pro one! Haven't really had a problem with that i would usually adjust that side first then the other. Maybe try with the nut a little tighter?

I just replaced my chain and sprocket set. Got it done at the mechanics. Is the front sprocket supposed to have a little wiggle ( a few mm left to right ) in it? Also the mechanic got a kit that had one less tooth on the back wheel sprocket (41), this is my 1st time with a different ratio and I noticed immediately. But yea, is there supposed to be a little give in the front sprocket? Cheers.
@MOTODANS Жыл бұрын
Hey Badger, just went and checked mine mine has a small wiggle to. The front sprocket when the bolts are removed just slides on and off so that play there is just to allow that. 👍

@@MOTODANS thanks Dan. I want to get back to Canterbury, NZ ( born in Darfield ), and ride the country. Still yet to get Australia under my belt.

Your chain is way way to tight! it'll kill your bearings.
