K5 was and is a monster. Set it up right with a few grand in extras and it can run with anything today. I bought mine for $4500 put $4000 into it and I can walk on or stay with all my friends R1's, CBrs, S1000RRs.

ralphbove same as I done I have a really good k6 and BMWs ,rrs and the k6 is a better bike had mine from my new loads of bikes have came and went this last 12years and I'll never sell my k6 gsxr

Yes, k5 really a beast when it came in 2005. 178 hp for 166 kg. It blew everything away. Still remember as it was yesterday

Well in a straight line the L7 shouldn't have any issues. In fact on the street at all it should smoke the K5. I'd like to see these 2 on a track though

@pedroMr2PT. Hey Dude. you are crossing up hardcore on some of the corners. makes your bike very unstable..... you should take some courses to perfect your riding techniques. This is a very dangerous act and you want to make sure you understand the importance of body position. 3:13 and 3:19 you can see it very well.

Yea where do you think the S1000 came from , BMW bought 10 GSXR’s tore them apart and designed the S1000 from Japanese technology and innovation BMW as whole can’t hold a candle to Suzuki in the racing arena period end of story.

Crap story , u own both K6 and L8 , huge tech difference.

physics will still be physics even after 12 years. a 2018 1000cc in line for with a engine speed of 12k rpm will still make more or less the same power than a 1000cc in line for from 2005.(if on both bikes the injectors inject same amount of fuel per cycle...which they do almost identically) its not like the L7 will make 250hp at 12k rpm and the k5 will make 170 at 12k rpm. The difference is electronics...thats where the L7 wins...but put the same electronics on the k5 which is 20 kgs lighter and has a higher torque of 4Nm and you will be surprised.
