Evokes so many memories for me … I had one when I was 17 back in ‘81 in the same colour way … I upgraded the rear shocks to Koni’s as the bugger ‘tramped’ like crazy on fast bends …

❤a truly immaculate retro bike. Altho the Yamaha LC 250 was talk of the town, i prefer the Suzi X7 for its reliability & bare looks. I also remember mild modified X7s could smoke LCs !!!

I bought a brand new blue one in August 1978 for £780 from P.McNulty and Sons in N Ireland. Registration number was BIL 9997. I thrashed the living sh*t out of it for two years, hit a dog and came off it once, lowsided it twice and traded it in for a 400/4❤

I believe that if Suzuki releases it again with an Aluminum frame and uses a rear monoshock, many people will be attracted and buy it.👍

Same wheels as the GS 125. Morris is the cheapest and best 2T oil you can get keeps it running cool on a long slog.

I had one back in April 79 and it felt cheap compared to my previous bike a Honda 250 Dream. Don't get me wrong, Suzuki's always had a good build quality with their earlier GT250's twins, and Triples. But this one didn't quite cut it for me. Sure, it was fast, but the front brake squealed all the time, and the engine developed piston slap just under 3000 miles. Even though I was not riding it that hard. The paint was also very thin, I accidently dropped a key on the tank, and it chipped immediately. I had a Yamaha RD200 previous to this, and it was robust, and had a really good paint job. It was the early 70's 200A model, before the "Coffin Tank" DX models which I also disliked. Just my opinion. Incidently, I also owned a 250 SuperDream, and CM250 Custom, both of which, were far better than the X7.
