I’m not sure why I found your channel but after watching some LTZ videos I’m going to dig mine out of storage and revive it. I built it for desert racing, full Epic long travel arm, LSR swing arm with TCS shocks, 440 BB with 13:5:1 comp., full top end built by Nic Granland Racing. You sir have inspired me to get it out, it’s been in storage since 2009. Needs some frame repair work and more bracing on the weak areas.

Hey, that is awesome! Glad I could help inspire you to bring it back to life. Sounds like an epic build.

I remember me any a few buddies who had 400ex's back in 2003, and then one guy bought the lt400..... it absolutely smokes a piped 400ex in a straight line.

When junior was racing in the mx youth classes we had 3 carb and 2 EFI LTZs.One of them with LSR ltr style swingarm/link(gamechanger)When he moved up we went to the LTR platform and since then we had stock,semistock, built LTRs,RMZ and CRF hybrids and a full Walsh CRF 450 hybrid.Found that non built LTR engines liked stock uncorked or Yoshi exhaust the best for low end power,combined with 13-37 gearing on 18"rear tires.A fairly stock stock RMZ engine in the LTR with the right gearing can be lugged around like the LTZ actually.The 18+ CRF engines a a lot more choppy and aggressive..But man the power is amazing...Love the atention to detail on all your quads.

Hey awesome video I love the content you put out about the Z. I was wondering what you are running for cams in that thing and why
@PatrickRiggs338 ай бұрын
Thanks! I am just running an intake hotcam on the Z. Stock exhaust cam. Not much power to be had with the hotcam exhaust cam over stock. The old style hot cams were a different story. I am not trying to make huge power out of the Z, I have the 250R and LTR for that.

Having owned both I'd agree with your assessment. Great video! I wish I would of never sold my original Z.

Where besides marketplace do you find quality ATVs? ATV Trader seems to be predominantly dealer sales.
@PatrickRiggs336 ай бұрын
Unfortunately, you have to sift through marketplace and what's left on craigslist. You definitely need to know what to lookout for as well.

I liked my 2003 400 very good bike I would have to say. My buddy bought the new 2006 450. Honestly the bike handles amazing but power was horrible. I bought the 2006 banchee and it's got to be the fastest thing in dirt I have ever seen. But at the end of the day it's all about fun

With that being said reverse is not needed 😅

Dry weight for the LTR is off. The bike has been weighed by many and the average weight comes to 420lbs. It's why it's a huge deal when you go to a hybrid setup or heavily modified base LTR. Hybrid will shave 45lbs and then some pending other mods. You can shed 20+lbs off a base by going to aftermarket parts.
@PatrickRiggs338 ай бұрын
Yep, I'd agree. I think people were getting 420+ with fluids though.

I went thru your videos, did you ever get around to the LTR swinger swap on the LTZ?
@PatrickRiggs338 ай бұрын
I did the LTR swinger swap. You'll see it in many of my videos from 2 years ago. Didn't care for the chain alignment or short chain/sprocket life due to mis-alignment. Found a nice used Houser swingarm and made the switch.

Patrick, does stock or any aftermarket ltr 450 grab bar fit on ltz? I have ltr taillight and it is not visible from above with ltz 400 stock grab bar. Thank you mate, on my profile there ir the prove.

@@MultiGuille11I'm not sure. You could try an AC or Alba but they don't kick up like the stock bar and you might not see it good from behind.
