Just got a 2008 109R with a locked up motor for free. Can't wait to rebuild or replace the motor. Everything else is in good shape.

My 2008 Vulcan 2000 put out 117HP and 143 TQE on the Dyno, not bad for a big heavy bike!

Well done mate. Thats a nice improvement. Have you tried fitting nice open air intakes and filters? Some guys a saying once these bikes get some nice cool clean air into them they really love it. The stock intakes suck hot air from between the cylinders

Just grabbed a 2014 M109R, I too, am also ordering the chrome sideburner exhaust pipes, glad to hear you're pleased with them. Did you just your change pipes for the sound/safety or did you notice any actual gains in horsepower? Also, did you have to re-map or did you just place them on and roll?

shoulda used a 2 into 1 exhaust. those usually make better torque numbers.

If it appears to be small gains, remember the stock rating on this bike is already exceptional.

ITS THE AIR FILTERS THAT GET YOU HP. MORE AIR MORE POWER,
@PaulJones-ld9xk
@PaulJones-ld9xk 9 жыл бұрын
Rich Archer complete nonsense, without a remap the availability of extra air is almost completely pointless, you need more air, more fuel, and better exhaust in conjunction with a remap, that will get you a few extra horses but people who are duped into buying "hyper chargers" (a slightly de-restricted airflow) at an extortionate cost are unfortunately only kidding themselves.

***** -PC3 - Cobra Long shots . -HOLLEY INTAKES , I dont know you or if you have a 109 . but with a PC3 you can get loads of extra power . With air filters on both sides this bike loves more air and a good map. Check my bike out FB, PEACE OUT .

Sorry if my post sounded abrupt, I've just read it back to myself and it sounds a bit harsh, sorry. Ive ridden sports bikes all my life and always upgraded the stock power and looks. I have just taken delivery of my 2015 VZR1800BZ the latest of the M109. Its a great bike and I've already upgraded the exhaust to a set of HardKrome's new air intakes on their way, its booked in for a a PC5 and a custom map so looking forward to some modest gains, I don't expect more then 15bhp if I'm honest. Ive got loads of custom parts on order (mainly from Germany and the USA) and they should all be here in the coming weeks, I'll post a video of it once its upgraded. I'm used to running over 200bhp on a bike less than half the weight of an M109 but I love the relaxed demeanor I've developed on this beast of a cruiser.

***** No no no point taken and your right .Hyper chargers are a lot of cash . Been riding all my life 54 years old . I love the way the sports bike look and run but my health I had to go with a Cruiser . Wanted a KAW CONCOUR 14 but the bike was to short ,I am 6.4 250 , M109R fits me well. Its fun . I still keep up on all the new bikes the new Super charge Kawasaki Ninja , damn . TOM be safe bro the pot holes here in Pa are large enough to hold bass , BE CAREFUL . PEACE OUT .

Good overview man, I am a new 9 owner and this was very helpful. And for those too lazy to do the math themselves... :) 140NM = 103.26(FT/LBS) 156NM = 115.06(FT/LBS)

The torque on this is in N/M not ft/lbs.

That's less then a 10% increase - is it worth it? Maybe to the owner it is, but it wouldn't be for me. Still, I like it when folk modify their ride to wring out a little more performance. I'm impressed with the shopworthy aspect to this video. ~ S ~

question ? I got same pipes plus k&n filters and PC5 fitted did a dyno run and I only got 109 torque and 123hp at the wheels this bike seems more powerful stock than mine tuned how is that possible?

Stan Gorodok i have two m109r i have a 08 black like the one in the vid and i have a blue 2011 for some reason the 08 seems faster and more powerful
@hiyadroogs
@hiyadroogs 6 жыл бұрын
+Stan Gorodok - How is what possible? These figures are at the back wheel, which is the only power that means a damn, & is 114 bhp stock, after 10% transmission losses, & 122 bhp modified. So yours is marginally better in horsepower, & marginally deficient in peak torque. The stock torque after transmission losses was 140 Nm, (103.3 ft/lbs) & 156 Nm (115.1 ft/lbs) modified. Even identical engines give marginally different results unless they are blueprinted. If you are happy with your bike, why worry because another one gives a few decimal points more in one area & a few decimal points less in another?

That isn't in Ft/Lbs. In ft/lbs the torque should be slightly lower than the HP on that bike.

140 Nm is 103.3 ft/lbs after transmission losses. 156 Nm is 115.1 ft/lbs & is what arrives at the back wheel after transmission losses. So the figures are correct. Transmission losses are usually around 10%.

you gained just 8HP ,& 7% more hp then stock,, and spent how much money in parts and labor?...im sorry i dont see the benefits behind all these so called upgrades.if spending a $1000.would give me 15 or 20 hp more yes i see the benefits
@MrDavee1
@MrDavee1 8 жыл бұрын
That's an increase with no weight gain though. Probably a bit of weight reduction with that exhaust. The increase throughout the rev range would make quite an improvement IMO.
