I've been doing some research and I think that spring is supposed to go on the oil filter cap.

I just did mine and the spring is between the cap and filter.

Just got gifted ine and needs alot of work..what type of oil, 10-30??? I have no info on the year. Does the vin show the year and wgere is it located?

Hi, the vin number is located over the back left tire on the frame by the rectifier. The year will be the 10th digit. All oil and parts are listed in the description below the video. Thanks for watching. Hopes this helps you out.

Strange..:mine didn’t have that spring, but did have a o-ring there.

Yeah that’s kinda weird, I bought mine new and have been the only one in there…wonder if I lost it the first time and never knew? Idk but it runs fine.
