They’re super fun bikes. Very low seat, very light with a low center of gravity, good fuel mileage, and enough power to keep up but not enough to get you into trouble. First street bike I ever threw a leg over back in the late 80s. It was the LS650 Savage back then but nearly identical minus one gear (4 speed back then).

Still a virgin S40!😆 It needs to be modified to bring out the beast in it.

Had mine for about 6 months before i removed the air box and placed a pod filter direct to the carb, to make it clean, neat, less clutter, easier for maintenance.

@ACommenterOnKZbin I moded with larger main jet, raise the carb needle, add a less restrict muff. I unleashed the beast with faster acceleration and top speed.
