Do you rather do your own work on your bike or leave it to a pro? What brought you to this video?

I'd rather do my own work. I have a 23 sv650 and I'm approaching 7500 miles which I will service my spark plugs at that time. I'd like to see a solid video on inspecting valve clearances on this engine if you ever have the time/need to check yours.

First find a professional 🤣

Doing your own work is always best imo. Plus as Al from the skid factory said, and I'm paraphrasing here, you have yourself to hold accountable then to the quality of the work. Yeah of course! I do need to do it. Haha Stephen, there are apparently some good ones around near me.

I do simple things on the bike (changing oil etc), but anything complicated I leave it to the experts, although they are harder to find these days. What brought me to this video ? I like your content 😎

The cry on all the race programmes and posters used to be "Support the people who support the sport!" I am afraid my wallet comes before brand loyalty or following peoples sponsors. I live in a different dimension here.... I was watching Brie the Biker and his 800 quid helmet and 300 quid Intercom in a state of total shock. I just bought and excellent 32 quid helmet and 20 quid intercom. I consciously avoid buying any clothing that carries a brand logo.... MotoGP riders and teams get paid millions by companies to plaster themselves with logos. I am asked to pay more in order to wear something with a logo. Another solid video showing real world mechanicing. 👍

That's entirely fair too tbh, I think that's very region dependent as well. I spent about 240 per cardo for me and herself on sale, but I don't think I could ever stomach 800 on a helmet......the sv650 didn't cost much more than that!!! On the clothes I do try get something every now and again but they are crazy expensive. That's why I more do things like support certain oil brands etc that sponsor people I like. I need the oil either way and if its a good oil it's money I'd be spending either way yano. Thanks!

Nicely done, it'll be running like new (or better) soon!

I hope so!! I'd really like to get to a track day early next month :)

There are a few nasty things on the Aprilia RSV that I am prepping for track days. The worst is removing off fuel that has been sitting in a tank for years. Such a nasty smell.
@TheGorillaBiker2 ай бұрын
There is literally nothing worse, the fuel in the GSXR had been in there about 11 years best guess. Absolutely rancid

The v strom should have a tool for removing the front plug, in the tool kit. Used it on mine. Handy yoke.
@TheGorillaBiker2 ай бұрын
Oh nice! I must check did I get the toolkit with it that'd help next time, altho this was very easy to do in any case thankfully.

I detest changing the spark plugs on my MT-01 it's a horrible job.
@TheGorillaBiker2 ай бұрын
It does look a proper hassle, if I know a bike is going to be a nightmare I try to do a few things together. The vstrom will be getting fresh coolant and sparks when I do the next valve check.

@@TheGorillaBiker can you do a video on the stromular, I'd be interested in seeing that
