I am 55 and had most bikes in my time i have been riding bikes since i was about 12 years old and i now have an SV650n 05 plate nothing special and my personal view is i think i have hit the sweet spot with it and i will be honest when they first came out i did not like them it was the single down pipe on the exhaust that looked silly and i thought they wont catch on now i love them to bits, i have had two 1 litre twin bikes, a Mille, and an TL1000 and like you say the SV is so managable in every way, great review...

Well from my personal view with my age and disability i have the naked one and on a plus side they look better and another plus they are cheaper to insure too, they are truly the dogs danglers of bikes and trust me i have had a couple in my time, i hope you find one and you will fall in love with the bike very fast good luck...

Hey, loved the video a great review and especially good to hear of someone with a lot of experience. I'm fairly new to riding myself but have been riding a 125 for a few months and been dying to upgrade to a 650, wasn't sure whether I was making the right choice going for the sv650s but now I'm sure. Again loved the video and will be checking out more of your content.

@@glenshea1967 I definitely did, I've been riding my sv650 for a few months now and it's a lot of fun! Though I would be lying if I didn't say I'd had a peak at the 600's and thought about upgrading in the near future. But for now I'm gonna enjoy the bits of joys my 650 gives me

Hi fella, great walkaround. I am thinking about my first bike. A mate has offered me an FZR600 (2002 with fog eyes) about 20K on the clock for a grand. A neighbour has one of these though with 34K on the clock. An 05 plate. It has full fairing. Is that something that was standard on them? Also being 6'2" I am wondering what might be better. I feel the SV seems better with slightly dropped bars as opposed to the more upright Fazer which seems a little smaller, contrary to what I had expected. Do you think there is much that can be done to make the cockpit seem a little bigger? Thanks

Hi, nice one for the Diesel comparasion about the power delivery. I am 26, planning to get a first bike. I am down to a sv650n or S, depends on condition of the bike, or yamaha fz6n. I live in Europe and my type of riding will be most of the time - urban and from town to town 30-100 km max. Highway - maybe couple of times in the year. What do you suggest for a bike. I have ridden bikes in the past, but i dont have time on a " big bike " in urban enviroment. Thanks !!!

The only thing that really sucks about this bike, is the sharp edges of the seats, that material get harder over time, and tend to break on the edges, also that dash pod is something a 10 year old would design :\ so ugly, other than that, what a great little engine! lots of pull down low, light and very flickable...I wish could understand a word you're saying tho lol :D

Nice review, and you can't beat a Geordie accent! Currently got a Bandit 1200, so I understand your diesel-torque comparison. Great review, answered many questions I had on the bike, however, as far as pillion passengers go, does it make the bike feel sluggish or is there still plenty of power? Also, how would you rate the bike for doing long distance journeys, say 4-5 hours of riding covering 300 miles plus? Thank you, keep it up!
