Commenting to keep this video at the top of the search list because it just saved me - linkage broke in the middle of a three point turn, took the cover off, popped it back on and put a little blu tac on the end to stop it slipping off just until I could get the car home and order a replacement bush

Thank you so much I had thought that I had a gearbox issue or clutch needed replacing but I did the diagnostic and it turns out that the bushing on the gearbox side is bad like as soon as in touched it disintegrated in my hand so thank you I can rest easy now💆🏾‍♂️🙌🏾👏🏾

This video saved me today! I’m so crap with cars! I’ve ordered a bush from you, for now ive cut a 20mm rubber gromet down to fit and put a load of bluetac on the outerside to hold it in place haha it’ll do for now

Replaced both sides and very necessary. Only 2015 with 78000km on it. I hope this also cures the bad topgear shifting.

Was one kit enough for both ends? Purple on the interior and the black one under the bonnet?

@@klinkske so the same bushing works for both ends, right? Did your fail all the sudden, kinda you were no more able to go into gear except 3 and 4? 78k km is not that bad, i suspect mine is going to help with 30k..... 2016 zc32s. It has become "hard" to return from 5th 6th or reverse to neutral position. in the past, it used to return on it own, now i have to manually take it back. All the gears enter perfectly, and the return from 1-4 to neutral position is smooth as always. kzbin.info4hnywjj9gwA

so you say the bushing that goes in the transmission end, is 100% like the one that goes in the cabin, in the lever?

Would this issue cause the gear stick to be stuck in reverse gear as this is my problem,it still drives in reverse just can not get it out of this gear .

Is this part better than the OEM part? does it make sense to switch it out before hand or is failure not that common?

I have a similar issue where the linkage became disconnected on the gearbox end. The bush is completly disintergrated. I still have 3 & 4, just no 1-2 & 5-R. Can you advise if the bush can be replaced or is it a completely new linkage needed?

It might be more likely gearbox issue not linkage. I would start with gearbox oil change.
