Suzuki SX4 Pikes Peak Special || 910Hp/1090Kg Monster Tajima Record

Nobuhiro "Monster" Tajima finally broke the 10 minute barrier at Pikes Peak in 2011 on the last ever edition of the mythic Hillclimb still raced with dirt surface (although only on some parts)
Posting a 9.51:278, the Veteran Japanese drove a very special Suzuki SX4 unit, powered by a 3.1L TwinTurb V6 unit capable of over 900Hp, delivered to all 4 wheels, moving only little more than 1 ton of weight.

I was lucky enough to watch Tajima “Monster” several times at PPIHC in the early-mid 2000s during the dirt/mixed surface days. Even then, we knew we were witnessing a historic legend! He loves his fans and was always one of the most enthusiastic drivers with fans during the post-race downhill parade lap. Great guy and incredible driver.

I love the SX4 cross (not the sedan), it's tough and looks so cool. My mom has one, and once we drove outroad unpurpously because we got lost LOL, it behaved very well, without a problem.

WILD that Suzuki WAS KILLING the hill climb game back in the day!? In the 90’s to 2000’s they were slaying with these crazy high horse power turbo 4 cylinders , AWD and wild wings and splitters , definitely SO far ahead of their time! Sad to not see them around anymore.

0:40 many soiled pants as he rained in the understeer, that was actually right on the line. You can see him sorting the massive downforce and front grip, that thing is slightly more setup for dirt, on the start line you can see the softer suspension setup. Hope they keep pikes with dirt sections.
