The 270 crank isn't just about thump thump "feel". It creates more distinct power pulses to the wheel, which is actually a significant positive when you are doing lower rev work in low traction. Like the reverse of ABS.

The V in V Strom means Versatile. The mistake they made are the tubed tires. Nobody asked for that and nobody should want that. At highway speeds a leak can be deadly with tubed tires.

They CLAIM now that the V stands for Versatile, but back in the day they claimed it stood for V twin. I agree about the tubed tires.
