Fun Fact: You can still buy these brand new in India in 2019 with the Suzuki g12 engine and abs but no power steering.... They drive pretty ok on 13 inchers. Rear wheel drive burnouts are fun and it gets up to speed pretty quick without mods. Anything above 100kmph is scary. But I've personally taken it to 120kmph.

Here in California, It was the Esteem. I had a 2001 glx + sport. Hella fog lights, 5 spoke Enkei wheels, Yokohama Advan tires, kyb sport struts / standard equipment. I had to lift the motor - trans out of the cradle at 100k to change the belt tensioner & idler pulley ! DOHC I-4, cam chain, 16v, efi, coil on plug, electronic ignition, hydraulic lifters. At the time this car was sold here, only one other Japanese automobile used coil on plug and that was Acura. Now, every Japanese car uses it.

My coworker took his Chevy Tahoe in for a transmission swap. Mechanic was supposed to be a "friend" and dude prepaid for the transmission. About a month later (3 weeks late already) my coworker gets a call that the trans came in so he brough the teuck in for service. 3 days later he picks it up and at first is ok but quickly starts doing the same thing again. He marked the old trans "FUCKED" with yellow paint pen on the side, it was the same trans. He went to dudes shop during business hours and confronted him, got his money back and put the fear of god in him.

Re: wasted spark, if pistons 2+3 and 1+4 were at TDC simultaneously the engine would have the balance of a jackhammer. Wasted spark fires paired cylinders on the compression and exhaust stroke. The fire on the exhaust stroke is effectively 'wasted'.

Uhm, no, every i4 engine pairs 1+4 and 2+3 because that's the best balance. Firing order 1243.
