Suzuki VanVan RV200 maintenance

Part of Spring maintenance on my 2003 Suzuki RV200 VanVan, I replace spark plug, air filter and change oil. A short DIY.

Nice job! Looks like a very accessible construction to do maintanence on. On most bikes I know, it is recommended to change the oil when the engine is warm so the oil drains better. I will have to replace the airfilter on my old Diversion, but this will mean to take off the tank. Nothing I want to do every day. I will combine it with adjusting the valves and doing some cleaning on the carburators. Ride safe!

Thanks! Actually I did warm the engine before draining oil, but decided to cut it out from video for it seems to be obvious ))) As for the valves, don't have the tool to adjust it and so took my bike for a pro mechanic.

This is a great video. I recently purchased this bike and you literally show how to do maintain it. More videos like this one, please! PS: for some reason I couldn't remove airfilter cover even after removing the bolt. Weird. I thought I needed to remove the seat first. Apparently I need to try one more time.

Thanks for kind words. THe cover of air filter is held with one bolt. Then you just pull out out. No other bolts holding it there.

Hi. Glad you made it. Oil Filter is from Champion brand. You may look up its number if you type Suzuki RV125 oil filter Champion in Google.

What's the size of the spark plug socket you used to replace the spark plug?

Hm I dont rmember. It was a regular one. I think it is 16mm, but i am not sure. sorry

It's a 16mm deep well socket..usually with a rubber insert to grip the plug to pull it out. The NGK Iridium plug DR8EIX is the absolute best plug to fit into the RV200 over the standard DR8EA

Hi. Thanks for comment. Well that's very easy to do. First, try to adjust the swing arm nuts. That way you can adjust the tension of chain. If it is already streched all the way to the end, then you must replace your chain ))

It is a GIVI Italian one

Change the spark plug and air filter first, then warm the engine before changing the oil and filter. These are basics mate. Plus get a new camera.

Thanks for worrying. I did warm the engine to help drain oil. All good so far. Camera - got it.
